Continuing yesterday's theme of considering myself too plain to be interesting to anyone, I'd also like to say how grateful I am that now I know someone who makes me feel wonderful enough without the magic superpowers. We might not be the Golden Trinity, if not for the fact that there's two of us, then for the fact that if we'd have magic wands we would probably poke out eyes out, but I wouldn't trade what we have for any wizardry. Despite all the bumps in the road, this has to be the most magical story in my life.
This is exactly what helped me realize that those friendships weren't special because of sorcery, it was simply a tool to help them find their way to each other. But there is no potion for being a good friend. There is no witchcraft that can teach you how to care or how to love. No one put a spell on them to be there for each other. They simply were. And that's what makes a good friend. That's what makes a family.
People who are meant to be a part of each other's story gravitate towards each other. Despite the difficulties and the differences. They teach each other important lessons. They grow together. They make mistakes together. They laugh together. They apologize, and fight, and change, and make decisions, and they still wind up by each other's side. No magic needed... though, I find that magical anyway.
And even though I didn't end up finding a way to become a mermaid, I found a better charm. And it's the people who stay there despite the lack of magic and hold your hand in the eye of a hurricane. It's the light in some people's hearts. It's their wisdom, and kindness, and their voice on the other side of the phone. And to have that kind of people around is way better than any magic could ever be. People like her are way better than any magic could ever be. People with soothing smiles, loud laughter, charming eyes, and tender hands. People with passion, people with heavy hearts, people who feel the world's pain, people who have the sun's warmth in their eyes. People who are worth more than all the money in the world. // #diaryentry #bloggerdiaries #relationshipposts #writerlove #writergram #thoughtsbecomethings #thoughtlife #lifeiswonderful
