This story is so heart breaking 💔 Parents try their best to shield their children from bullies as much as possible but it’s hard because you cannot always be by your child’s side. A 7 year old was severely burnt when a local bully doused him with nail polish remover and then proceeded to light him on fire. PURE EVIL‼️ The worst part is the other boys mom was there watching the whole incident and didn’t stop it. SMDH I would have lost it on her. Absolutely lost it. Fuck that this shit is inexcusable. Some parents are truly THE WORST. I couldn’t imagine what the mother of the burnt victim and the boy little boy are going through. What would you do if this happened to your child?

STORY: A seven-year-old Missouri boy needed surgery after he was set on fire at his home, local media reports. Julien Sandlin was playing outside the family’s apartment in Independence, Mo., when another boy, 8, doused him in nail polish remover and set him aflame. “My son kept saying ‘Stop. What are you doing?’” his mother #AshleyLyons
told the Kansas City Star. “Julien kept telling him to leave him alone and that’s when he decided to burn him.” Lyons, who wasn’t home at the time of the attack, said Julien had been left in the care of his older brother and another adult. She claimed the other child’s mother was present and didn’t do anything to help the young boy, despite there being a bucket of water nearby. Thankfully, a neighbour rushed out and wrapped Julien in a wet towel until paramedics and police arrived. He then underwent surgery to salvage the areas of skin affected at Children’s Mercy. “The burns were so bad that they had to go in immediately and do surgery to scrape his face and all of his skin.”
Doctors told the family Julien’s internal organs, including his lungs, could have also been impacted and he may need skin grafts.
page has been set up to help raise money for Julien’s medical bills and moving the family from the crime-ridden apartment complex into safer housing. By Tuesday, it had already surpassed its fund-raising goal of US$50,000. via torontosun.com
