“I loved teaching English, but it was quite challenging. On the first day I had 75 smiling 4-17 year olds waiting to learn English. The young ones could not speak a word of English. I found it beyond rewarding, though.
On my very last day as a teacher in Misca, Romania, my students put on a talent show. They played the violin, flute, and guitar; sang Hungarian folk songs; and danced to traditional Hungarian music. I gave my students certificates for completing the class. The students and director surprised me with flowers, a Hungarian folk dance book, a traditional Hungarian wooden calendar, a personalized Hungarian pillowcase, and certificate of appreciation. It was one of my happiest days ever!”⠀⠀
