The South Shore Gatehouse is closed for repairs today. Please use self-pay envelopes to record your visit to the park. If you’re camping with us, please stop up before 9am tomorrow, Oct 18th, to register. We hope to complete the repairs today, but will keep you posted if plans change. Thanks for understanding. #sanangelostatepark#sanangelove#betteroutside#rainyday#weneedabiggerboat
Today’s #TxPollinators challenge is something white, either a plant being pollinated or a pollinator, like this Crambid Snout moth on lantana. While butterflies tend to be the most popular pollinators, moths help pollinate, too.
•The average annual rainfall of Knox County TX is around 25”. Since the end of September Knox county has received between 12”-21” of rain fall. That much rain has been a blessing after the droughts we experienced this spring and summer.
• I recently took some pictures of the Brazos River just north of Knox City TX showing the Red waters of the Brazos rolling across the landscape making the 840 mile journey to the Gulf of Mexico!
•As fast as the waters came I know it won’t be long and the iconic Brazos River will be back to its normal level with small pools of stagnant waters and a small steady stream of water continuing its arduous journey south.
•on that note it was great to see all the young whitetail prospects! I hope that a few of these animals survive another deer season and winter to come back as a more mature and iconic Whitetail that every hunter pursues!
