Day 10 is Done and I feel amazing!!!! I feel so much stronger than when I started 💪🏋️‍♀️👊 . If you had told me 3 years ago that I would be a health coach at this point in my life I would have laughed in your face and probably snorted because that's what I do lol. . I can't imagine my life without coaching. It gives me drive, purpose, motivation, a sense of accomplishment, satisfaction of helping other reach their health and fitness goals and I wouldn't have it any other way!!! . I work from home on my phone, on my laptop, from the passenger car seat, from anywhere that I am where I have wifi or data. Well, that was rough! Mostly incline treadmill speed walking (11 incline at 3mph). YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DEPRIVE IN ORDER TO THRIVE 💃🏻 • Anyone who's tried to lose weight knows the drill: Throw out the "bad" foods, make friends with chicken breasts, & eat your veggies. Pizza, pasta, bread, cookies? They're all evil & if you love brownies, too bad! It's incredibly hard to live with an all-or-nothing mentality. Yes, it seems healthy to throw away sugary or carby foods and claim you'll never touch them again. But that just doesn't happen. And you shouldn't feel pressure to live this "all-healthy-all-the-time" life. • Willpower Is Finite I think any overly restrictive diet can be great for your physical health short-term but terrible for your mental health and unsustainable for the long-term, Once you feel like you are dieting or being restricted, it's only a matter of time until your willpower runs out. Remember: Willpower is finite Instead of investing so much guilt and energy into how "bad" your favorite food is, try to maintain a mentality of moderation. "All foods fit in a healthy diet! When I’m not at the gym, I like to snuggle up with this babe! 💕🐕 . Unfortunately, taking one last rest day before I get back in the gym to make sure I’m 100% better! Especially since I wasn’t able to stay hydrated or eat enough the past few days! . And eating plenty while you’re sick is a key part in recovering quickly! Especially fats! . Eating enough fats in our diet is essential for proper function and they serve as an energy source especially during rest. Fats protect our organs, form cell membranes and various hormones, and serve in temperature regulation as well. When you don’t have enough fats in your diet, you risk having hormone-imbalances, cognitive disorders, decreased immune system function and so much more! . Sadly, Fats often get a bad rap just from their name. But, what you need to understand is overeating is what leads to weight gain - it doesn’t matter what macronutrient it is! So no, eating fats doesn’t make you fat. . Unfortunately, fat does come with the highest caloric content at 9 cal per gram so it is definitely essential to make sure you aren’t getting in too many fats and that you’re properly balancing them with your carb intake (while always keeping your protein around the same amount) . My advice? Remember who you were before the world told you who to be 😌 . Do you remember how you were as a kid? Before society got to you? Before the world changed you? . I LOVED life. I loved being outside, being active, going places, meeting new people, facing new challenges, keeping up with my brothers, exploring, coming up with new ideas, making up songs - there was literally nothing I wouldn't try 💯. . Hell, I wore boxers until I was damn near 12 years old. I wore what I wanted, got blue streaks in my hair, played with the boys at recess without being labeled, and was friends with everybody no matter who they were or where they came from. . Then you grow up and the world changes you. Social media, the news, your peers, what you're taught both in and out of school - it changes you. . People change you. They treat you different depending on your gender, age, ethnicity, size, intellect, drive, passion, "normalcy". You start to be molded into this person that you may have never intended to be, just so you can fit in with what society told you you should be. How fucked is that? . Would 10 year old you be proud of who you are today? 🤔 . If you would have asked me 6 years ago, I would have said no. I was all sorts of messed up trying to find myself after years of losing myself. . Now at age 28, hell yeah 10 year old me would be proud 👌. I keep her with me you know - that creativiness, the friendliness, the excitement for change and adventure, the kindness, the drive and determination to do what I set my mind to. The desire to learn more, to be better, to try new things. That's not me as an adult, that's me as a kid; living this adult life the best way I know how ❤.

When talking to a client, I always aim to know their goals BEYOND the basics. Beyond the typical, “I want to lose weight” or “I want to gain strength” or “I want to look toned.” . . I want to know WHY you started your fitness journey in the first place. What sparked the change? What sparked the want to pursue a healthier you? . . Where do you see yourself EXACTLY 1 year from now? What are your specific goals? . . Broad goals contain great ideas without a direct plan of action. What we want to create are SPECIFIC goals, so we can then create tangible steps towards reaching them. Try switching your goals to something that sounds more like this: ✨I want to lose 20lb in exactly 6 months so I can feel confident and have more energy in my daily life ✨I want to squat 250lb ✨I want to run a 7 minute mile ✨I want to eat 3 servings of vegetables per day ✨I want to do an unassisted pull up . . When you can SPECIFY your goals, you can then make a plan of action. If you can stay consistent in that plan of action, you WILL reach the specific goals you have set. . . You want to know a GIANT secret about me??! I kind of had a moment during my workout today, the trainer was asking us to really think as we pushed through, WHO we were doing this for? WHY we were doing this? It kind of came out of no where and slapped me in the face... . When I was pregnant with my beautiful babies I had someone very near and dear to me call me fat, tease me about being over weight and just have the odd thing to say that made me think, F you, to put it bluntly🙈 . Then that same person last summer, after I've worked fairly hard to be in what I would consider "good shape" say to me while I took my shirt off to swim with a bikini on "oh gross put your shirt back on" I'd like to think and have been told this person was JUST TEASING🤦‍♀️ . Today, doing my workout and the trainer asking those questions those exact things popped in my head. I thought to myself, I used to do this for the EXTERNAL look but I've come to realize that I dont do this for the abs or muscles or the number to change on that stupid scale that so many people let there worth show from, I do this for the INTERNAL feeling. . Mental Emotional Spiritual . So no, I dont have some big transformation picture to show you. I mean I do show the fact that the human body is so f'n AMAZING and can gain 65+ pounds, grow tiny humans, and somewhat bounce back to "normal" whatever that normal is to YOU. But if I were to show you exactly the transformation I've had from this journey I would have to take out my brain and my heart then and now and compare the two. . I do this for ME. Not so someone can tell me I look great. I'm proud of me and when it comes down to it that's all that really matters. . Ps. And no this wasnt my husband And yes I still love this person❤ I find their opinion doesnt matter to me, it doesnt decide my future and it definitely wont dim my light or my confidence✌🏋️‍♀️

Here’s an easy tip if you think you’re a high performer in your job. Often high performers get neglected in terms of getting specific feedback. In the words of Ed Koch, ask “How am I doin?” Ask your immediate leader and some valued staff what you’re doing well, and what they feel you can work on to increase your value to the department/organization. I encouraged 3 different leaders who weren’t sure exactly where they stood, other than “I guess I’m doing well - no news is good news, right?” By being brave and asking, now they KNOW what they are excelling at, as well as what to focus on as far as professional growth. All 3 thanked me for encouraging/pushing them to do this because they got clarity about what specific actions and qualities people appreciate about them, and what they need to work on to achieve the next level progression in their career. Instagram has become one giant platform for selling products. . Now I don’t necessarily believe this to be a bad thing...if the product is a good product and the real deal it can be an amazing platform for us to purchase products. . But here’s the thing. . If you have to sell your product by BUYING FAKE LIKES you are basically saying that your product is not worth the price tag. That you have to trick people into thinking you’re legit. . It’s easy to watch when this is being done because a post will have 50,000 “likes” after 4 minutes with zero comments. .
