Today I F I N A L L Y got to meet this very special gal, Amy. Amy and I share a unique and special bond. She reached out to me when she was beginning her journey to become a living donor. She had been sent my Be More video log and reached out for emotional support in the process. Mid journey, she called me sobbing - heartbroken that she was turned down by the exact same hospital I was turned down at as well. I gave the best advice I could and my only advice. “Amy if you feel this deeply that you are supposed to be this persons donor, whatever you do do not stop trying. Follow your heart and try again. Get your recipient on @jeffersonhealth
‘s list and keep going.” So she did! And just like me, we were both approved, had our surgeries, and now are both living kidney donors! We didn’t let anything stop us from following the signs and Gods great plans for our life. LOOK AT US NOW! Does it look like we collectively only have 2 kidneys (1 each)? Amy is 1 month post op and I am 11 months post op! God is so good. I am thankful for a friend like Amy and this special bond. Amy is also the F I R S T living donor I’ve ever met in person! Traveling an unknown path can be scary. It’s uncharted territory that can leave you second guessing everything, everyone, and even yourself. But if you were not somehow positioned to take this path (whatever path it may be), you wouldn’t be equipped to conquer it. God does not put anything in front of us that we aren’t given the tools to handle.
Starting a new business, getting married, leaving a relationship, becoming a first time mom, grieving a loved one, losing everything and having to start over, moving to a different part of the county or world without family near - the list can go on, but these are all unknown paths if you haven’t traveled them before.
Trust your navigation system (FAITH), and let your intuition guide you through to the other end. Put one foot in front of the other and walk - being open to receive the lessons and the blessings along the way. 👟

Ketosis is not the same as Ketoacidosis. Both sound very similar can cause confusion. There is ton of misconceptions on this subject and the Ketogenic diet. So I figured we can start here:
Keto is low carb 20-50g of carbs (depending on your threshold for carbs)
When you are no longer using carbs (glycogen) your body switches over to ‘fat burning’ (which is also a confused statement but that’s for another time)
Once low carb for consecutive period of time your body starts producing ketones these come from your liver.
Keto will produce a LOW amount of ketones (which isn’t dangerous)
High levels of ketones in the blood this can happen to type 1 diabetic who are not receiving enough insulin.
Your blood can become acidic and if left untreated, it could be life threatening.
