Walter had dated many girls and women before. None ever become more than just close friends, like Anastasia. Never would he have ever truly considered another Mighty, as it’s all but forbidden. Still, there was something about Teri. Somehow he knew that she would change him. Already he could feel her impact, like the pull the ocean feels as the moon passes by. He was the ocean, and she, his moon. What was it? Why was he drawn to her?
He held his hand out nervously and waited for her to accept. The relief he felt when her fingers gently took hold of his put his troubled mind at ease.
The two Waltzed in silence, stepping, turning, and spinning to the music. She followed his lead as a bow follows the strokes of the violinist, making their own music together, staring into one another’s eyes. Her long hair swished back and forth as they moved this way and that, until the music faded.
