Jeshua is the Director of Finance and Social Impact for THIMBY, he joined the team in January 2018. He is passionate about human rights, poverty alleviation, and corporate social responsibility. Jeshua wants to see THIMBY achieve a scalable model for housing the homeless that does not discount humanity - respect, dignity, or individuality.
Currently in his last semester studying Business Administration (major) and Global Poverty & Practice (minor) at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business and the Blum Center for Developing Economies, Jeshua wants to see businesses and communities built with long-term sustainability in mind. In his free time, Jeshua is either playing beach volleyball or chasing his next global adventure.
Everyone (especially David and his dog, Tinkerbell) is excited for this bus to be built and finished in a few short months! Let’s make this dream happen by hitting $20k on our gofundme (link in bio) this Sunday- less than $2,500 to go! 💪🏻🤗

Good morning thimby peeps! Here’s another quick update of our fundraising campaign- we’ve already raised over $17,000 thanks to our amazing friends, family and even complete strangers! Everyday we’re getting closer to our goal, but we still need your help liking, sharing and donating! The sooner we finish campaigning (hopefully in a couple of weeks), the sooner we can focus our attention on the build and get Constance, David and Miracle the home of their dreams!
In Fall 2016, the original Cal THIMBY group participated in the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) Tiny House Competition. The aim of that pilot project was to bring together climate sustainability and cost-effectiveness into a single prototype tiny home. As energy and water access continue to grow as an issue for Californians, this project helped fill the need for new, innovative approaches to housing. THIMBY 1.0 has helped demonstrate a new path forward, building a net-zero energy and net-zero waste model living unit. The unit generates its own electricity with solar energy, harvests its own water, and remains small enough to be applicable for many end uses…. Its use today? A living lab!
Like THIMBY 1.0, our THIMBY 2.0 team will continue to incorporate sustainability into all of our plans for affordable tiny housing. In doing so, we hope to continue blazing a trail for sustainable, affordable housing solutions at a larger scale. As we saw this past month--and the past decade--climate change is endangering the livelihoods of many California and global communities. Minimizing our own impact is crucial to our goals, as those without shelter are particularly vulnerable to the heat waves, polluted air, and more extreme weather. #tinyhome #tinyhouseonwheels #tinyhousemovement #tinyhousebuild #tinyhouseliving #tinyliving #tinyhomeonwheels #tinyhouses #tinyhouselife #homelessness #advocates #helpthoseinneed #endhomelessness #humanity #poverty #helpthehomeless #speakup #poverty #equality #bayareapride #bayareabuzz #bayareaartist #bayarealife
“If you’re cooking, you should just cook for everyone, because you can always cook more food with the same amount of flame”. Constance took this lesson that her mom taught her to heart, and now encapsulates this sentiment in how she behaves as a mother, employee, and woman. Her day begins with getting her children up and ready for school, for which they are always on time for. She then leaves for her job as a seamstress, and can often be found lending a helping hand as an active member at GRIP, even after a long day of work. Before succumbing to a severe spinal injury, Constance was a tradeswoman who worked in electrical and plumbing. Because of her extensive work background, Constance has been very active in the planning and design of the bus, and we can’t wait to give her a bus that meets her standards. She’s also adamant that the project can’t just stop with her, and hopeful that we can expand THIMBY 2.0 to help the thousands of other homeless in the Bay Area. She’s constantly giving to others from her own flame, and we just want to help her cook up something amazing.

The thing I love most about photography is that with a lens and a shutter I can find beauty in all things, discovering beauty that people may or may not see in themselves. I hope the pictures I take will brighten someone’s day and may they find themselves in a beautiful light...because we all are beautiful in the eyes of the beholder. ✌🏿
