I love to switch my workouts up every now and then so I don’t find myself on a training plateau! . Oh my aching back!! I have no clue how I hurt my back 5 days ago but it was nice to get some yoga in yesterday. BOD has a huge yoga studio and you can push play on any of the targeted yoga sessions. Swipe left to see some of the lower back stretches I did yesterday. Listening to your body and taking care of it when it's talking to you is vital in the healing process.
Do more of the things that ignite your soul! . I can’t begin to express my gratitude to everyone who reach out to me yesterday, commented on my post or expressed their support in other ways, . While I know these challenges will not last forever, some days are harder than others, and yesterday things came to a head for me! . The important thing to recognize is that I have an amazing support system: my Lord and savior, friends, family and social media community (yes I consider SM a huge blessing!). . Training is another outlet that helps me regain my focus, and it’s something that brings me great joy to do along with others! . My team and I have been participating in a #12daysoffitmas Challenge to push ourselves through the end of the transphormation challenge, and day 3’s Upper Body Burn was killer! . 3 rounds each (I did one extra for warmup, give it a go if you’re feeling good after all three 😅): . 13 Push-Ups 30 Shoulder Taps 30 Tricep Dips 30 Dumbell Curls (lighter weight) 30 Alternating Shoulder Presses (15 each arm). . It’s blurry because it’s a still frame from a clip of my morning workout. I’m midair because I was pushing myself to jump higher. My face is red because I was aiming to get in more reps than yesterday in the 60 seconds that @shaunt gave us to do this particular #transformer move. (Spoiler alert :: I did!) . Your fitness journey doesn’t need to be crystal clear, with both feet planted firmly on the ground, and a perfectly made up face 💄. Exercise is messy. You get sweaty. Your hair gets in your face. Now heres an arm day superset i bet a LOT of you havent tried. Bodyweight exercises are neglected quite frequently but bodyweight arm exercises are basically unheard of. Takes a bit of feeling out to get into the proper groove but once you really learn to take your back/ shoulders out of the movement the pump is incredible. Its always good to put your muscles under a different type of stress, throw this superset onto the end of an arm or upper body workout and after 3 or 4 rounds even the strongest(and lightest) lifters will be screaming. N dont be a goddamn tool and have some poor guy at the gym sit 3 45lb plates on your balls trying to make it "harder". This is an exercise that will not work without real mind muscle connection. With all the fitness motivators and hardcore max effort, PR seeking set videos on social media its very easy to get caught up chasing numbers. Now theres nothing wrong with hitting a new PR or going all in for a set of heavy squats but theres a certain time and place. Every second workout(per lift/per bodypart) ive really seen a huge benifit from easing off slightly and putting all your focus on perfecting the movement and/or mind-muscle connection(stretch&squeeze). Here are my top two sets from this past weekends chest and deadlift assist workout. 6×250 deadlift, 6×80's incline bench. Not shaking or bouncing the weight, just rrinforcing the groove of the movement and pumping blood into the muscles under a moderately heavy load(for MY strength level). After much debate, I am switching back to #LIIFT4 . I lost momentum with 80DO in November for a number of reasons and I found it hard to get back into it and the hour long workouts before work and there is no way to fit it in at night. Got my step over the weekend, tried to do the preview workout on Facebook, couldn’t get it to work on my computer so I had to wait until it was on my workout portal to stream! I hit the snooze button 3 times this morning. Then contemplated staying in bed and doing my workout tomorrow instead of having a rest day. Then thought, well I’m already awake and I have to get up at 6am anyways do is staying in bed another half hour really gonna make a difference? So I rolled outta bed, put my sneakers on, grabbed my liquid sunshine, my laptop, and headed to the basement. Gave it my all and got it done. Now tomorrow I get to take that rest day. tomorrow marks my first day back working out in NINE days. this might be my longest hiatus to date from working out since I started this journey. With most of it. And even got emotional during knee pulls!!!! 🤷🏼‍♀️ I had a huge meeting and presentation this morning, possibly the most important of my career thus far. • • My mind was NOT on this workout. The stress over today’s events affected my whole being this weekend and I didn’t food prep! 😳• • I will be back full force tomorrow. • • All that worry, and all that stress about today Presentation ✅ Nailed it! 🎉🤗 Now, time to refocus. 🎶🎄On the seventh day of Christmas, Beachbody gave to me...seven workouts crushed, Sixty second intervals, Five sore body parts, Four vegan Shakeology flavors, Three Challenge weeks, Two sets of dumbbells, And a coach who cares about me! 🎄🎶 I went to bed extremely early with the thought of getting my workout in before the kids got up....but this morning my bed was snuggling me so nice. I get up at 4am all work week and my brain started listing the reasons I should just not run today...the excuses got me today—I thought I would just stay in bed! 😴 only got about 45 min of extra rest (not even sleep) before they were up! I always regret not just having gotten up and gotten it done! But kid nap time...I will treat myself right and do it! 4 mile race pace YogaFix

BREAKING POINT!!!!! I gave it my all at 5 AM today. I have my 100% and by minute 17 I was in a puddle of sweat on the floor saying a few choice words to the TV. Specifically @joelfreemanfitness . As he is talking about the HIIT portion of the workout I am praying I can get my ASS off this floor and finish. I DID and it was hard . . You are going to have hard days. You are going to have days you want to give up and quit. That is when you push harder. That is when you pause and re-compose your thoughts and come back up and kick ass!!! That is where you see the change happening. It takes a breaking point to see what your body can do once it over powers your brain!! So turn that negative shit off and use your body!!! Let your body tell you what it can do for 20 minutes a day and not your brain. 👌💪 .
