As promised here is the Tabata I did this evening. These are great for getting a quick effective workout in! We all know I love effective! Get your Tabata timer (download the app) set your watch for 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest! 1. Burpees 2. Plié squat with Kettlebell 3. Pushups 4. Kettlebell swing 5. Shoulder press 6. Right leg donkey kick 7. Left leg donkey kick 8. Alternating lunges (not filmed). Repeat that for 6-8 rounds depending on fitness level. Boom! Fast workout in 32 minutes! On weeks like this one where I really struggle and have little energy to workout, I look at the picture on the left and I get my booty up and moving. That picture reminds me just how far I have come and why I HAVE to SHOW UP even on the days I do not want to. My transformation was not created by an over night quick fix or "fat burning" pills or some crazy diet. It took hard work. It took developing a routine and dedicating time every single day to take care of my body. I had to listen to my body and learn what food fuled it best. This new body, the one today on the right, it's a life style. It is sustainable and something I can do for the rest of my life. Who knew I could become so attached to a piece of plastic. ⠀ ⠀ A plastic step that does nothing but sit there and look cute. 💁🏻‍♀️⠀ ⠀ But for the last 6 weeks (2 more days to go!!) 😢 ⠀ I have greeted this step every single morning. ⠀ ⠀ I’ve had mixed emotions I have to say. Many days where i wanted to fling it across the room, accidentally lose it 😆 & just quit. ⠀ ⠀ But i didn’t. I did every DANG workout 🏋🏻‍♀️on that calendar & today I have fallen in love with this step ( sorry Andy) 🤣 ⠀ ⠀ An emotional moment today as I held on to the step and just felt SO STRONG 💪🏼 ⠀ ⠀ 💫Those little moments when I didn’t wanna push through... I did. ⠀ 💫And those moments when i thought no change is happening? I was wrong. ⠀ ⠀ It just takes TIME. ⏰ ⠀ ⠀ 👉🏻Overnight results⠀ 👉🏻Quick fixes ⠀ 👉🏻Instant abs ⠀ 👉🏻Instant weight loss. ⠀ ⠀ It’s not REALITY. 🤷🏻‍♀️⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Reality is setting a goal and putting in the time to get the results. ⠀ ⠀ And for 20 min a day.... it can be done. ⠀ ⠀ To all my challengers and friends finishing up this program. Most people dread cardio which is understandable, you just have to find something you enjoy doing that gets the heart rate up! I am a big fan of doing circuits and this one can easily be done anywhere with or without a bosu ball: ❣️bosu ball burpees (in video) ❣️side hops (in video) ❣️in out jump squats ❣️pushups ❣️toe taps .... Talk about making no excuses & getting the workout finished. I'm so tired, my son had a rough night & I've never been one to sleep the night through anyways. When I finally dragged my butt downstairs I got a third of the way done & he woke up. Had breakfast, played, cleaned a little & when he went down for his nap I finished my workout. Today was one of those days were I tried to come up with any excuse not to get my workout in. I was tired, power went out and I just didn’t feel like it. Then I remembered how much better I feel when I do devote that little portion of my day focusing on myself. You better bet I packed my stuff and drug my butt to my work gym to do my program there. No step but found a wood step that worked just fine. My point here is that the only thing stopping you from your progress and your goals is YOU. Make the time for yourself. You won’t regret it.
Today we had to workout in complete silence. No music, no personal trainer telling you to push hard just you, the step and your mind. And honestly it wasn't the push ups, squats, half burpees or transformers that made it hard, it was being ALONE in my MIND! At first all I could hear was how I was stepping out of "tune" with everyone else and my mind was trying to make me beat to their rhythm. But my trainer always told me to go at my own pace, so that's what I told my mind, my body was going to do. Then I was left with all my other thoughts, the one's that have been racing in my mind. It was so hard and with everything around me so quiet they seemed so loud. But one by one I silenced them and for once not only was everything around me silent, my mind was silent too. I felt at peace and that by far is my biggest transformation yet. 🙈Spent a good 5 minutes staring at my computer screen this morning thinking “how am I going to get this done?” . ⭐️Shaun T told me he was going to be SILENT during today’s workout. . ⭐️To be honest, silence kind of scares me. It’s the time where I feel most vulnerable and prone to negative self talk. . ⭐️Typically during my workouts, I’ll either listen to music or listen intently to the trainers. Today I broke down- I let all the stress out- I got stuck in my own head as the workout was silent and I didn’t have anywhere else to go- But it didn’t break me- I proved to myself I can get through this and I leaned on the ladies in my group and they supported me- Don’t be afraid to let things out and find people to support you when it’s hard- These programs aren’t just about fitness and nutrition- they build you mentally and find you a tribe to help support and be there with you -
The fight of the workout wasn’t me against the workout or the trainer, the fight is always me vs me. Just like I’m not doing this healthy lifestyle for anyone but myself. Not everyday is going to be your best workout. Some days you have to push yourself past the sore muscles and past your head telling you it’s okay to stop. Know your worth and know your strength! You are a million times stronger than your subconscious is telling you you are 💪🏼💪🏼
First run in almost a week thanks to a stomach bug that took me out over the weekend. I’m all better and my energy is finally up some🙌🏼 I was able to make it a nice 1 mile 10 minute run and then 15 minutes of weightlifting. This morning was hard. It may seem like I pop out of bed every morning all full of energy ready to take on the day. But it’s not like that. . Every single day I have to make a decision to get up - rise up - and be in control of what I can control. . This morning consisted of snoozing the alarm after a way too late bedtime and getting up much later than I wanted. . I totally had a moment of “Forget it. I’ll do it later. I ate like crap and barely drank water yesterday so I already ruined it” (Thank heavens for my mamas healthy dinner cause I was needing allllll the veggies by that time)🤦🏽‍♀️ . This transformation - this lifestyle - this mindset shift...IT TAKES TIME. There was a point where I would’ve let that negative voice and all the excuses that come with it win...but when you show up every day and realize it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just needs to be consistent...then you change your mindset...you change your LIFE. . Workout 1 in complete silence with hubby this morning - and woah was that powerful...Followed by catching up on yesterday’s workout I never did🤦🏽‍♀️🙄 (definitely part of my poor eating choices) with the big kids who must’ve known mama needed their extra encouragement. . Some days are challenging - some go smoothly - regardless, we control what we can control - we get up and make small decisions that add up to overall success, we give ourselves grace and don’t let ourselves off the hook and we do it consistently. . Show up for you, lady. You are worth it.💗
Pretty PUMPED I decided to follow my regular morning routine on our FOURTH snow day this winter! ❄ [This winter is seriously insane. We literally never get snow days here in Minne]. A few months ago Chaq Diesel allowed me to put a sauna in our basement. Now she is letting me create an in-house filming studio so that @markpasternack and I can produce videos. Alright, so today my anxiety is kicking my butt! Thoughts racing, mood swings, trying to get everything done at once but then also wanting to just curl up in a ball in bed..do you feel me? . I got home late from work again. I was struggling to get my workout in, so I took a deep breathe, slowed down, re-focused and remembered just how strong I am! Changed, got all my stuff and went downstairs... At almost 9pm. I'm like, I GOT THIS! But sometimes life doesn't have the same plan as you. Enter the issue of INTERNET DOWN! I was starving and getting to the end of my ability to care... And after that, I said screw it. So in came up and ate this healthy concoction! I would have felt better by working out... Many of you have asked for simple, healthy meal ideas. Here was dinner tonight 👍 ••• All of these ingredients are from Target! ••• Mahi Mahi: Thaw before baking. I brushed it with a tiny bit of olive oil and seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic powder and drizzle with lemon juice. Bake at 400 for 16-17 mins. ••• Quinoa: We cooked a few cups of this to have in the fridge for the week. Super healthy pseudo grain. ••• Kale/onion/sweet potato: Sauté onion in a tad of avocado oil. Throw in kale till wilted to your liking(Kale is pre-cut/pre-washed). Toss in sweet potatoes. I have the sweet potatoes roasted ahead of time. Roast 4-5 sweet potatoes and store in fridge for the week. Season with salt/pepper. ••• Healthy, quick and delicious!
Wouldn’t it be pretty awesome to get some exercise in while your kid is being entertained????!! — I started this program years ago when it was just too much trying to get to the gym. And I gotta say, it was the best freakin decision! I’ve totally changed my body and mind. — Here’s to a double dose of my mama juice!! I was so beat I put my 20 minutes off until the guilt set in. So down the hatch 🥤and down the basement mama went. — Not gonna lie, I definitely struggled. But I didn’t give up. It was kind of ironic, I was getting to a point where I was feeling super spent, and then he says this: “You can do it, trust the process. You got this. No matter how slow you go just keep going.” It’s just what I needed and that’s what I love about these home workouts. I get a trainer right there pushing me everyday without fail. — It happens on my schedule, in the comfort of my home, and for pennies when you think about it. Today’s workout was dedicated to the girl who wanted to give up but didn’t. There’s been times in my life similar to now when the world can just feel like a whirlwind and I would revert back to the old me of binge eating and unhealthy habits. Not this girl!

We’ve got to tackle that inner mean girl and tell her everything is going to be ok. Life is such a crazy ride. This past week there’s been a lot of personal stuff going on in my extended family and more going on just in our little house with Leinie’s surgery, Troy being sick, an allergic reaction to his medication plus add on all theses crazy pregnancy hormones and that’s just an equation for a mommy meltdown. 
Last night I had what I would call a mommy meltdown. I felt like the world was on my shoulders with everything, the kids were being super crazy with the full moon around and I just wanted a nice family night, but it didn’t happen. I got mad and stomped away to my room for 30 min of quiet time and a shower because I needed some mom time. We all have those days right? 
What did I do to change that today? I woke up this morning and got my workout in for me. I didn’t hit snooze a million times. I showered and actually got dressed and put makeup on for me. I nourished my body with my superfoods for me and tonight I have on my agenda some reading for me along with an amazing training to help grow my business. Make time for you mama, whatever you enjoy doing, you deserve it.
What leg exercises can I do if squats hurt my knees? Got this question from a client the other day and thought I'd share if it helps anyone else out there! If squats aggravate your knees, firstly, you need to figure out why? Is it a specific injury? Is it a nagging pain? Go to a PT to figure it out, and then see if they think it's safe for you to do exercises that can work your legs but aren't squats. In just five weeks...this body looks completely different and the crazy thing is there is only 2lbs difference! . . So throughout this amazing 5 weeks (I am in the final week this week!) my body weight has fluctuated a few pounds up and down so today when I took this picture I am only 2lbs less than I was five weeks ago...but these pictures tell an amazing story! . . Day one: - tired - much wider waistline - puffy faced - less toned - and a lot less confident in myself . . Five weeks later: - energized - happier - smaller waist, thighs, and booty - gaining confidence (not all the way there yet...this for me is always a work in progress!) . . The scale can not measure my worth or the way I feel on the inside! My energy level is up and my happiness goes up too! . . These past five weeks I have done the following: - worked my ass off 20 mins a day - ate clean and portioned meals 80% of the time - cut out 80% of my wine/cocktails - cut out junky snacks - had amazing support from my online community and the hubby! . . Life is not an all or nothing! When we take out 💯 of something we don’t usually last but when we just dial it in MOST of the time...it’s bearable, we see the slow and steady change, and we have to confidence to keep going... . . ⬆️⬆️⬆️THIS LIFESTYLE ... it is completely and 💯 DOABLE for ANYONE! . . You have time for 20minutes a day You have the ability to clean up the food 80% of the time You can invest in your health and make you a priority! I was scared to do this workout. It’s FAST. And being that it’s the last week, I knew it was going to be HARD. . Negative thoughts were starting to go through my head about how I would fall short. . But I also had my trainer in my head... . “The soundtrack in your mind is the driving force of your success.” ~Shaun T . So I flipped the script. I focused on the move I was doing. I told myself, “You’ve got this!” through the entire 20 minutes. . And you know what? It WAS fast. It WAS hard. . But I DID IT. . And I improved, even though I wondered how it was humanly possible. And I savored that victory as I was doubled over, catching my breath. I thought I had reached my max, but it turns out I have more in me than I believed. . And know what? You do, too. You are capable of so much. So what will you tell yourself today when you face hard things? I hope it’s something positive...

When you're at the gym, do you give it your all? I used to feel like just showing up there was enough. Like my body would be like, "Oh, we've walked through the gym doors - time to torch fat and build muscle!" 😏 . Um, no. Unfortunately that's not how it worked. . Now that I'm at home, with someone telling me EXACTLY what to do {and also what to eat} and a community of women counting on me, and showing up WITH me, I go ALL IN. Every time. . Because why not? I've dedicated this time for myself, I might as well make the most of it. And with this program being ONLY 20 minutes, I push until I can't give anything else. I literally have to sit for a good 10 minutes after it's done - whether on the basement floor, in the shower, or on the floor with my kids - to evaluate what just happened. . And that's where the results happen. You don't have to be at it for hours a day. Just make DAMN good use of the time you DO have and Give. It. Your. All. 💪 . Need someone to tell you what to do? It never fails... these kids always wake up early the mornings I get up early to workout.... I even slept in the workout clothes, made my pre-workout drink last night and set an alarm. I didn’t need my alarm after all because my internal alarm clock woke me up! I got 10 minute into my 30 minute workout and I heard screaming. Allison was awake and this cry wasn’t her “I lost a pacie” cry. I ran upstairs, opened her door and the smell almost knocked me over 😷 Yup, it was a major “I crapped my pants” cry. Isn’t funny how we can tell our babies different cries. I could get upset about this interruption of my morning plan... but when I hold Allison and see how big she’s getting, I slow down and savor every moment. She’s our last and I will never have these moments again. Workouts can wait, being present with your kids cannot!
I didn't have the energy to workout. I didn't have the motivation to workout. I didn't know where to start when it came to working out.
