Lexy will be 13 years young at the end of this month so thought it was the perfect time for a check up.
Overall Lexy is incredibly healthy but does need to lose few pounds: I've know this for a while and have tried my own fixes but with so many blips caused by her surgeries, injuries and winter weather, I'm not seeing enough improvement.
So a few days ago our amazing Vet, Dr. Seagrist, from @yphvets
gave Lex a full work up and is helping us create a nutrition plan. It is important for all dogs to stay trim but especially for seniors. Equally important is for them to lose weight in a structured and safe way. It is also important for us all to be inquisitive, compassionate, and understanding when discussing 'weight' & 'health' with pet parents as it's easy to equate this with how much we 'love' our furkids.
We will share more as more is available.
For now, please enjoy this pic of Lexy loving on her Vet Assistant Vanessa (first pic after Lex heard her say "no cookies" 😯) 🐾❤️ Repost @yphvets
Our assistant Vanessa was star struck and had to get a photo with @lexy_the_elderbull
— we think the feeling was mutual! 🐾
