Mirror, mirror who’s been wearing their shirt backwards since 7am?
Growing up I never took goal setting seriously. It wasn't until I was a full blown adult that I was able to master the commitment that it takes to follow a goal through. Being 1 week away from my #surgiversary
I've been paying extra attention to my non scale victories. I have a much larger list than I thought I'd ever have and it's crazy to think about. .
- Wearing single digits in clothing sizes
- Fitting into regular calf boots - Being able to wrap a normal sized towel around my body - Wearing size small
- Running a mile non stop
- Being able to do push-ups the standard way and not the "girly" way - Someone calling my "tiny" - Having a waistline - Best health in my entire life
- Being able to walk into any store to try anything on
I could go on. The point is, don't give up no matter how discouraged you may get. I would've never imagined in my wildest dreams that I'd be able to do these things. Don't forget the little, but important milestones that you're hitting along the way. The scale isn't always going to move and it's going to fluctuate. Don't punish yourselves just because it might be taking you longer. .

Exactly a year ago today I was on vacation in Chicago extremely self conscious because it was so hot ! Seeing the different between then and not, when I am finally comfortable working out in shorts and short sleeves. ☺️
Yes, making healthier habits is important. Though sometimes habits can be a bit mindless...like biting your nails or snacking while watching TV. Try to live with more intention in your life and the good habits will find their way in! #WeightNoMore #UCDavisBariatrics #ThursdayThoughts
