The first few bottles have arrived and been cracked open at Willie's Bar - The Skye Edition!
A truly excellent bottling of an 11 year old Longmorn from the good folk of Hepburn's Choice, this is a corker and as a single cask which yielded 351 bottles I shall definitely be grabbing hold of some more.
A beautiful rum from @foursquare_rum_distillery
Premise is a blend of pot & column distillates aged in a mix of bourbon & sherry casks for a stated 10 years, it's proper lush!
Next is another single malt Scotch from the Diageo people as part of their Flora & Fauna series: a 12 year old Linkwood, nice but nothing to write home about.
Up last is the freshly minted and inaugural release from some old Bristol friends @circumstancedistillery.
It's fantastic to see new operators coming into the market and actually rolling with a fresh approach rather than just doing the same old thing like so many 'craft' producers these days. For this they've gone bold and interesting on the fermentation process using a French saison yeast alongside generic distillers yeast and going for a 13 day fermentation. Thirteen days is a loooooong fermentation, most Scotch is only fermented for around 36-48 hours. Anyways, it's an interesting first bottling, I'm thoroughly looking forward to seeing where these guys go.
