Incredible India. How aptly described. I visited India recently to eat my way through Bangalore, and the extra pounds I have gained and the smile on my face are testament to the fact that it was a wonderful holiday, nay, more than wonderful...it was something else...the sounds, smells, sights and people...I was reluctant to leave. A holiday is more than just a compilation of individual experiences mechanically carried out. I have very few photos of myself, and that's fine. I was there. And I had the most incredible time.
First up, Brahmin's Coffee Bar. The menu at Brahmin's is simple - you have a choice of idly, vada, khara bath, kesari bath and filter coffee. Place your order at the counter, pick up your food at a separate section, and carry your plate outside where you stand and eat with the masses. Brahmin's is one of the 4 or 5 iconic eateries in Bangalore. The passion is clear; until recently, the owner's mother supervised the making of the green chutney, and to this day the owner opens up the establishment at 6 every morning. The place is kept immaculately clean. The idly is served with a dollop of butter, quite different from western-style butters - this is milkier and creamier than what I've grown up on. And the idly? I had tears in my eyes. It was perfect. The chutney was perfect. And I ate it all. Ranking No.1 on my list of eateries in Bangalore. #ADsbangalore #bangaloreeats #bangalore #thambygoestobangalore #incredibleindia @adarshsrinivas12
