Check out this before & after ➡️
She had + inconsistent color
+ dead ends + unhappy results
I gave her + blended, seemless, even color
+ bond fusion to repair & restore the hair
+ fresh cut to add weight & thickness to her hair
+confidence in her hair & one very happy client 😘
How did we achieve it?
+ 10 v & Bond ,all around her hair line front to back to bright up her faceframe and hair underneath for when she pulls her hair forward and pulls it up in a pony
+ 20v & bond working in the nape to the crown
+ 25v & bond on side & top
*baby-lighted all the way through
+ as I worked up the head I balayaged & weaved out the super blonde pieces and picked up only dark and lightened these in extremely small / thin sections with maximum saturation for the ultimate lifting! I also used 25v & bond for this step + after, we tapped out her base using 6n/8n & glazed the rest with 09p & 09Gi
Let’s talk about the realities of applying a BALAYAGE when we are also applying a BASE COLOR. This is probably one of the most important things Ive learned, because how many of our clients come in for a single process color? Most of them right? They deserve to also have beautiful multidimensional hair!! These are my top 5 tips on how to achieve that coveted Balayage/Retouch combo, as a single process.
1- Before you apply any color, make sure you have a consultation about WHERE THEY WEAR THEIR HAIR. As hairdressers we tend to like super straight lines and partings, but in reality, most people don’t give themselves a straight part. It parts where it falls. Or maybe their hair parts and they move it around to suit what THEY like it to look like. Maybe they have a heavy side they like to balance out and have the side part that turns into a center part. Maybe they don’t wear a part! Maybe they have whirls or cowlicks that are addressed when styling. 💥 If you don’t know how they wear their hair before you color, your color will have holes and won’t look cohesive. 💥
2-Retouch FIRST. I always start with my 4 quadrant sectioning to keep it clean and consistent, then I go back and resection for my balayage. You can keep their part where it is if you feel comfortable, or if they’re a flipper, Retouch with a middle part.
3-You can see this client has a deep side part so I chose to leave her part where it lives. She also wears her hair back AWAY from her face, so her balayage is painted AWAY FROM HER FACE. Don’t try to create a horizontal balayage when they don’t wear their hair straight down to the side. WORK SMARTER NOT HARDER.
4-When the hair has color on it, it can be difficult to create an even piece if your tension isn’t right. ESPECIALLY when the hair has color on it, your tension and elevation is even more important to create the saturation you need for lift. Be aware of the size and depth of your pieces.
5- Keep your work clean. Even when you are using a freehand technique powder, something that encapsulates around the hair, if you put lightener on top of color accidents CAN happen. Better to keep it safe and use your cotton and plastic.

Tonality — Creates the shade of blonde. Sometimes you may be a light blonde, which when overtoned creates a “duller” feel. This guest just needed a little more pop! ✨
Almost my favorite time of the year 💁🏼♀️ #blondes
