Sharing my joy and sorrow tonight. While working through the last edit (book is done!) my Mac took her last breath. As hard as I babied her she couldn’t see it through to the end. We had six amazing years together. Good bye my faithful friend. You will be missed. The book: The Longing is being put on new Mac tomorrow! Hoping to have it out by October 1st :)
History was already written. My first poem published was almost 20 years ago with the International Library of Poetry.
My story has already been told
I am not in control
It's time for me
To embrace the lane I'm in
My journey is about to begin

Pretty Kitty having a nap 😻
Had acupuncture this morning for a lingering virus, and was flooded with the voice of the new story, which hasn’t even got a coherent synopsis yet. The flowers are my gift to myself for starting to get it down ( or a thank you to the muse). Now to close my office door tight so T doesn’t sneeze the house down.
I just finished this. It’s very different from the movie and reminded me how much I love Deborah Moggach books. More will feature in my future. 🙂 What are you reading?#bookstagram #amreading #authorslife
“How about a run?”
She snorted. “I’ve never run a day in my life.”
That rare mischievous look flickered in his eyes. “Exactly. It will build endurance.” He started toward the outskirts of town. “Come on, your Highness. I won’t tell the others if you’re sick afterwards.”
Joseline sent him a narrowed look. “I won’t be sick.” Quinn waved a hand at her, not bothering to turn back as he said, “No? Prove it.”
Evening Darlings! ✨💜🔮💜✨
prompt asks for an excerpt. Recently I’ve given a bunch of intense and serious ones. So I figured this little exchange would be a nice, cute change. They may ignore their feelings, but they can be pretty adorable too. 🙃
Also once again the Pintrest gods have graced me with a picture. This time of what I imagine Joseline looks like when she gets focused on training and zoned out. 🤩🤩🤩

Moment of transparency
The kitchen had become a lonely place.
I’ve been married for nearly 10 years and have been a mother for nine years. When my husband and I first met, I couldn’t really cook. But as we quickly fell in love and built a family, the in-house cook was a role that quickly became mine.
Over the past year, I’ve struggled with this role. Even though I absolutely loved and love Jason and the boys, I was growing sad on the inside. I felt like I was living a life that I didn’t want.
I still wanted to be married and still wanted to be a mother but just didn’t want to be in the kitchen.
And even though it was breaking me down, I never said a word. I wept in silence.
Flash forward to this week, my neighbors and I started cooking out every night. I am still the main cook (grill master this time) but it feels different.
I’m outside and not confined to a kitchen. I had other people out with me - seasoning the veggies and meat, sharing a glass of wine, and talking about life. My kids have been out running around and playing. I am still cooking but I feel free. We’ve been cooking out three days straight and cooking no longer feels sad. The process (when I’m on the grill and not alone) makes me laugh. It makes me feel free.
The kitchen had become a lonely place.

*Link in bio!* Have you ever loved your job but been less than fond of the environment at your workplace? Sometimes it’s not the work we don’t love, it’s the culture that comes with that work.
This week’s guest, author Anshu Singh, loved her job in Silicon Valley – but after having her first child, she realized that the cutthroat, competitive environment there was no longer a good fit for the nurturing nature her new role as mother had uncovered.
What did she do? She packed up her entire family and created an entirely new life for herself in Bali where she helps people be more vital and healthy and connected with pleasure!
