Fueling my body with a well-balanced lunch is such a habit for me now. It wasn’t for a long time, though. I used to pack a 100-calorie something, a Light N Fit yogurt, + a piece of fruit, then call it a day...until I binged on something from a vending machine before leaving school. Then stuffed my face with Craisins + bowls of cereal when I got home. I had such a warped sense of the relationship between my eating + my weight, my nutrition + my health. I saw eating less as the best plan. I saw “low fat” or “reduced fat” as the best options. I saw grazing as the best method. None of this was or is true. 😳 . I walked around lethargic, I was either under weight or “skinny fat,” I had poor digestion, + I was often pale + always hungry. Once I educated myself on macronutrients + clean eating, everything shifted. Now, I eat more than ever, + am fitter than ever. I make sure veggies + protein take the stage, with fruit, healthy fat, + complex carbs rounding out some meals. I snack way less (though still on occasion) + I never, ever hit the vending machine. My energy, my ability to create lean muscle, + my digestion all benefit! 💗 . I wouldn’t have known this without my coach. My first group as a challenger didn’t just introduce me to fitness. It opened my eyes to better eating habits. I do not diet. I haven’t dieted in years. Instead, I listen to my body + fuel it according to what I need from it. It’s not all that complicated, but it is all that important. ☺️ . If you don’t know where or how to begin, maybe you need a coach. Maybe you need me to get you back on track in the kitchen so you can feel better + be better. Let me help you redefine your understanding of health + nutrition. Exercise is simply extra credit. 😉

Can I get a show of hands who agree?! I could literally go to sleep now and sleep until tomorrow I think. But as soon as I put the girls to bed, it’s like 💃🏻🤩. I’m here, I’m up, can’t turn off my brain. 🤪 I know if I nap, I’ll NEVER be able to fall asleep... so what do I do to wake up because I also can’t drink caffeine after 2pm or I’ll never fall asleep?! 🙃 Might sound crazy, but sometimes I do an extra 25 minute workout. Got my first workout in, in about a week. I’ve been trying to get over a sinus infection for what seems like forever and so I’ve been coughing A LOT, which cause the tissue by my upper left rib to become inflammed 🙄 so I had to take a few days off to rest...but now I’m back and ready to keep crushing my goals! Hard to breath, mule kicks gaaah😖 the moves are so fast.....negative.... * This is when I realized like "What the hell am I talking about?" It's not about the feeling DURING the workout. It's the feeling I have AFTER the workout that matters! ❤ * Feeling accomplished, proud, strong...💪 Realizing this workout is what helps me fit into those skinny Jeans👖. This workout is what has helped build my confidence... This workout is part of the path that is reaching my weightloss goals..THIS WORKOUT is what lights my fire! 🔥🔥🔥 * So this photo is me... Today’s workout was all about the shoulders and arms...my shoulders were on fire 🔥, even holding the weights for core made them burn Started out heavy but had to drop weights by the last sets so I could keep form. The original schedule had this workout scheduled for tomorrow but because of events beyond my control I was able to shift my workouts to fit my schedule not the other way. It’s such a relief to know this program only requires 4 days per week and I get to choose which 4 days...this also means I get 3 rest days to do whatever other activities I choose. Win/win 💪💪
I’m not one of those people who just LOVES to workout you guys. . Some workouts I enjoy more than others and some mornings I am more excited about it than others. But overall, it would be much easier to sleep in an extra 30 minutes every day 😂 . I have just accepted that if I want to be the best mama, best wife, best version of Candice, then I have to make eating well and working out a sustainable part of my life! . You can’t have the best of both worlds - eat whatever you want and not exercise AND be a happy, healthy energetic person. It just doesn’t work like that! And if you are avoiding the question altogether – I have news for you. You are choosing the former🤷🏻‍♀️ . Let’s be our best for our people, but most importantly for ourselves mamas🖤 . And I will tell you one thing – it’s a heck of a lot easier to do it with a plan, accountability, and friends to make it more fun👯‍♀️👯‍♀️👯‍♀️ trust me, I tried everything to do it alone and kept ending up back at square one. . Went to bed late. Woke up numerous times throughout the night. Laid awake for 2+ hours trying to fall back asleep. . Felt great after my mama drink for energy but I DID NOT want to push play. I was exhausted. I was spent. I was over it. . But I PUSHED PLAY! I did my workout. I did good for my Body and my Mind. My overall health and muscles thank me. I have more energy, I feel great and no longer sluggish. . This is exactly what I needed. Mentally I knew it. I knew it would help me and make me feel better. Even though I didn’t Want to I still got it done! . It isn’t always rainbows and butterflies. It isn’t always easy. I don’t want up every day excited to get my workout in. I can’t even find all the words to express how much I’m in love with this new workout program split! ☺️🙌🏼 I despise cardio, I can’t run to save my life, it’s not therapeutic for me, & on and on. For the longest time it was in my mind that I HAD to do cardio to lose my stubborn body fat - so I was content with carrying it with me 🤣 - Until I became consistent with HIIT training mixed with weights 💯 My body composition changed, my mindset about food changed (wayyy less restriction), & I wasn’t always dreading my workouts 💃🏽💃🏽 - If you’re not enjoying what you’re doing, in life in general, you will inevitably get bored, frustrated, & give up. 💫Proof that there is always a way💫 . My client was telling me the other day about how her perspective has seemed to shift this last month. . She's a busy 🐝 this one... she works full time and goes to school full time, and yet she always has time to follow her meal plan and get her work outs in. . But she wasn't like this before joining the Get Strong Academy. . She used to get super stressed out when things didn't go her way. She told me this time last year she would never have even considered working on goals outside of her schooling because it would have been too overwhelming for her. . But lately, even though her schedule has grown much more demanding, she's finding herself creating new, BIG, crazy goals for herself ON TOP of all the other stuff she's already working on. . She said it's because now she is no longer telling herself "It's not possible." She is now asking herself, "How can I make this possible?" . So when going to the gym after work was too difficult, she asked, "How can I make working out possible?" She then realized there was a gym across the street from her work that she could start using during her lunch break. Or there was another one on her school campus. So no need to commute after work. Just get it done between work hours and classes. . Then when she would be on campus all day with nothing but the gross cafeteria and fast food to eat, she asked, "How can I make eating healthy possible?" So she started packing her lunch and keeping extra healthy snacks in her car when she was on the go. . She realized when she started looking for a way to make things happen instead of wallowing in the belief that there was no way, or it would be too difficult, opportunities started presenting themselves to her. . Now she feels nearly invincible. She sees that what she wants can become reality if she is resourceful and faithful in finding a way to make it so. . She's even started a vision board that have all her BIG SCARY dreams on there. Because now she believes to reach those dreams it's just a matter of asking, "How can I make it possible?" . #thegetstrongacademy #mindsetiseverything #believeinyourself #positivethoughts #makeithappen #getfit
So yeah I could ONLY share that FIRST pic all filtered and FUN and be like yeah workout is done ✅ and #ShaunT kicked my a$$$$$$$! . But the reality is the collage of the SECOND picture was after EVERY move when I couldn’t find my life. 😓 seriously zoom in....🤣 . I repeatedly said in my head can we be done? How is this ONLY 30 minutes? #humbled . Videos of the moves in my IG stories and I shared my income post from 2 YEARS ago....crazy how far WE have come (because I couldn’t do this without my hubby!!)
