What I thought would take a few days took weeks from concept sketch, to inking, to glassing. What was supposed to be a single "Ikigai" mandala exploded into a full fledged, body-scaled Art Attack. What I imagined would be simple doodling instead drove me deep into discovering the 7 chakras, Filipino symbolisms... and
the perils of polyurethane reacting to aerosol solvents 🤓
This personal project marks 7 months since I moved from the burbs to the big city. It's been an incredible journey of self-discovery & growth.
Everything is more pronounced: challenges & blessings, failures & triumphs. Pollution. Darkness. Doubt. Questions like: what have you done in this life? What will you do to make a difference? Why is chili p1250/kilo??
I guess this long-ass post is also an exercise in gratitude. I thank all of you for being a part of this journey. Many of you continue to inspire me, even if it's only through the interwebz. I thank you Lord for my livelihood: making music, shooting videos, and working with the most incredibly talented, humble humans ever. And thank you Universe for finally letting me surf this beauty with crazy/adventurous friends on deliciously uncrowded waves - wipeouts, reef-cuts, and all.
