Here’s a quick and simple stretch routine you can do at home! 👌🏼 Whether it be in a nice quiet room, at the gym, on the floor at work🙊, or while you’re sitting around watching TV 📺! . Target most areas of the body, relax, breathe and hold until you feel the tension in the muscle and fascial tissue release 😌 . *Note* breathing can really aid with stretching. If the stretch feels quite intense, don’t force it.... go to the point of resistance and hold... take a deep breathe in and out, feel the body relax, and you will notice eventually the muscle will let go slightly... you can then try push the stretch a bit deeper 👍🏼 . . . Let’s talk about forearms! Your forearms include many muscles that help to move your wrist and fingers. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Most of the muscles that help move the wrist, hand, and fingers are actually in our forearms (otherwise our hands would be massive and that would prevent us from being able to perform fine motor movements!). ⁣⁣ Here is a stretch for the forearm flexors and extensors (swipe to see this one!). These are especially helpful if you work with your hands and fingers a lot (office workers, those working in the trades, and even massage therapists - we need to stretch too!). ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Be sure to hold these stretches for at least 90 seconds. Also, be sure you’re always stretching warm muscles, so do this stretch after work or after a hot shower. Keep in mind you may not reach full range of motion here, just hold the stretch when you feel a slight pull. ⁣ ⁣ Let me know if you try this stretch out or if it’s already part of your stretching routine.

How often have we really been in conversation in which we were truly listened to? Oftentimes, I see myself and others are busy playing with their phone, obviously pre-occupied with our own thoughts, bursting at the seams to interject or interrupt with a story of our own, or simply so distracted or disinterested that our eyes are darting around elsewhere? It happens all too often. We really need to listen to someone attentively without interrupting, take in their perspective fully, allow them to express themselves, and just get ourselves out of the way for awhile. Doing this we will be amazed at what we learn and this may be the first time anyone have listened to them in such a profound and respectful way. Eagle Arms: do it the Yin way. Target area: shoulder blades; upper arm Option 1: standing and relaxing your back at the wall bring your arms up. The higher you lift them the more you will open your shoulder blades. Option 2: lie on your belly cross your elbows over each other and bring the hands up; to increase the stretch lift your elbow up on top of a block or blanket. Option 3: lie on the back cross the elbows and bend them, rest them on your forehead.
