How’s this for Sunday Morning honesty? There she is ladies, in all her glory. My mama belly, stretch marks and all.
Now, before anyone starts jumping down my throat (what stretch marks?! You should see MY belly! etc), please know that this is way outside of my comfort zone. I wasn’t a fan of my midsection prior to being pregnant, so putting this out there for you all to see is tough for me. None the less,I said I’d give an honest view into motherhood and here it is.
So ya, stretch marks. I’ve got bad news, ladies. They’re genetic. If your mama had em, chances are her mama and her mama’s mama did too. This isn’t to say that all hope is lost. You can take preventative measures to lessen the amount of stretch marks you get (my stomach ain’t so bad, but my boobs didn’t stand a chance, FYI). First, stay hydrated both on the inside and out. Drink lots of water, eat a healthy diet and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! All of these creams that claim to prevent stretch marks aren’t magic, they’re just packed with things like vitamin E to help your skins elasticity. However, if you eat 6 cheeseburgers and a tub of ice cream every day, ain’t no cream gon’ do nuttin’. The Rescue and Renue oil from the @arbonne
spa line was my go to. I used it after every shower (skin still wet!) and also added it to my baths! It smells amazing and made my skin super soft. •
Also, for those of you who wear your stretch marks like tiger stripes, bravo! 👏🏼 I’m still working on that positive image, but I know I’ll get there! •
• If you’re interested in trying it for yourself, the link is in my bio!
