The art of getting unstuck begins and ends with Self Awareness!
1. Notice that you are stuck. What does being stuck mean for you? .
2. Look for a metaphor for yourself when you are stuck ....such as a shape, or a color/ colors, a size, a location, what do you look like, Where are you? How do you look to yourself - when you are stuck? When I am stuck this is how I look to myself. .
3. Self Awareness-
How does...My__________look like.._________when I am stuck
Fill in the blanks with evaluation of self using the acronym SIGECAPS. .
💚 Sleep- too much too little, where is my sleep when I am stuck
. 💚Interests/Activities- Family school work anything increased or decreased, where are my interests when I am stuck
. 💚Guilt- What’s on your mind, what are we thinking about? Whether it is guilt, anger, shame, embarrassment, fear...etc. name it ? is it wearing down your thoughts is it good is it fixed, is it heavy, is it light, is it overpowering? Where is it .
💚Energy - low, high where is it .
💚Concentration - low high - where is it .
💚Appetite - increase decrease - where is it .
💚Position - where’s my body positioned, too many positions/movements not enough movements
. 💚Self Harm or any harm- harm from others, harm to others? harm from self, any harm? Harm to your boundaries? Where is harm when you are stuck .
4. Draw your own individualized pathways to get unstuck, see yourself and the roads you could travel, what you could go around, through, under, over... to get to that place away from what keeps you stuck.
5. See yourself unstuck & go there
