A little something different for your Wednesday evening- my little African violet! 🌿 I’ve been having my morning coffee in the chair by our back door where the sun comes in, and it’s been really lovely. I love the quiet time to myself in the morning before Andrew wakes up. I get to gather my thoughts, create my to-do list for the day, and be thankful for the sunshine through the winter. 🌿 What’s your morning routine like?
I’ve been south. I’ve been in the sun. Aching for some trail time now. Waterfalls maybe? Spring Break is about 6 weeks away. Where should I go?

Memorial — I made an eerie discovery up on Grandfather Mountain this past fall. Not far from where I was camping I stumbled upon the site of a plane crash. Now I’m sure many of you reading this are saying, “Duh, everyone knows about that”. Well, I did not so when I walked up on this gruesome site on a cold, grey day alone in the woods, I was caught off guard. Since then I’ve done a little digging and evidently back in 1978 the pilot of this Cessna 182Q became disoriented in bad weather and crash landed on the highest peak of 5000’ plus Grandfather Mountain. Sadly he did not survive and the wreck was never removed. If there was ever a mountaintop memorial, this is it.
Being out due to separating my collar bone from my sternum has SUCKED! 😔
But it lets me still be apart of the crew and still be able to enjoy everyone. 🚣♀️🚣♂️

Anybody else dreaming of summer right now? I’m ready for some floating on the river! @yohojeremy
The girls enjoyed spending half an hour slipping around on a frozen puddle yesterday. This brings us to about 12 hours outside this year. I’m working really hard to enjoy the cold weather in this season. Today it’s blowing, though, so we’re tucked up watching My Fair Lady.
