myRockworld memorabilia: Danger Danger - s/t debut album 1989 fully signed by Ted Poley, Steve West, Bruno Ravel, Kasey Smith and Andy Timmons.
Yes, Ok, so I was a late teen in most of the 80s' when this came out. You either like Hair band music, or you hate it. You either loved it back in the day, or hated it. Some people dont like to admit they loved it back then, and are ashamed or embarresed by it today. Im not. I will tell you I love it, always will, and I will never be ashamed to admit that. Danger Danger is a great late 80's hairband. Every song on this record from 1989 is filled with catchy hooks galore and are undeniably sing along songs that stick in your head.
Ted Poleys Tone and warmth in his voice are immediately lovable and Bruno's songwriting doesn't get any better in the genre, he understands and delivers.
This is a album with a definite sexual angle, "Naught Naughty", "Bang Bang" (Danger Danger's biggest hit), "Live it Up", ballads that lighters got lit up to in concert, "Don't Walk Away" any "One Step from Paradise". "Rock America" is basically about the band's desire to (you've guessed it!) rock America, I have to admit the keyboards are very nice they fit the song very well adding texture.
If this album had come out 5 or 10 years earlier, it could've been huge, especially on AOR radio. It actually sounds like it could've come from 1983 or so - resembling more of a Loverboy, Survivor and Aldo Nova sound.
Anyway, check this album out if you don't know it yet, you will not regret this one if you like 80's rock!
