Falling is okay. Vulnerability is okay. Allow that for yourself. Allow yourself the time, the rest, and the rejuvenation💗
Don’t settle. I know it’s difficult to get out of your comfort zone. I know when you are down and you get a chance that is better than where you are at, it’s easy for you to want to take it. Remember your worth, and make sure what you’re offered is at the level of your worth💗
Some days are just hard. We don’t want advice or helpful hints. We don’t necessarily even want someone to vent to. It is difficult how to navigate through these days and how to explain it to others. Here is something I personally like to share with others💗
little wuppies are such good listeners.
They have large, long ears, so it's easier to hear you talk (or whisper)
And their ears are so powerful that sometimes, you don't even need to say a word!
They can hear your thoughts and they know when you're scared or worried.
That's when they work their best magic; when you need them!
They're there to comfort you, and ease your worries. Always ♥️🐕

Reflection: how many times are you going to let a no stop you?
This photo was taken at a place where they were told the idea was stupid and would never work.. And is now one of the BIGGEST theme parks in the world.
Successful do not let unsuccessful peoples opinions stop them.
Successful people understand that there is more then the one way they can see.
Successful people trust that the universe is going to present them more then one option when they are ready to see it.
Successful people pave the way for their success.
And successful don't get turned down by temporary defeat, because defeat is often the richest moments in our lives.
What are you holding back from because someone once told you no?

You'll hear this endlessly all over Insta but I'm not just talking face masks and baths.
I mean really prioritise yourself! You can't pour in to other people if you're empty.
Like would you ruin yourself to make a catch up with someone even though you could easily have said, "actually would half past be ok?!"
Or would you skip the gym to get something done at work?
You need to set priorities for you and your wellbeing, what do you need to be your best version?
I honestly have people say to me all the time, "Oh, you're still looking after yourself"
Ahh yeah, it's not a hobby to get bored of, it's my life!
This is your life, to make of it as you will, don't waste it x
I'm struggling to find words to post on social media.
I have all these images I want to share, but nothing witty, profound, or interesting to caption them with.
I have all these words I want to share, but no images to match them with!
I'm finding it harder and harder to connect with people on social media.
And I miss that.
If you could let me know what you enjoy seeing (or reading) from me, I'd really LOVE to know.
I want your wants and needs to be my motivation.
Thank you x
Of those people who notice YOU!
You are worth noticing.
You are worth the effort.
You are worth the thought; even if it's a small one.
People who want to be part of your life will be!
Even in the chaos of life.
Notice those people.
Keep them close.
Hold them tight.
Tell them you appreciate them.
Make an effort to keep them in your life, too x

My niece was so excited to receive this!
She chose Penny the Policewoman from the 'line up' of @okdollsau

If you're yet to discover the awesomeness of these dolls (and what they represent), or the brilliance that is Kim, the creator and genius behind these dolls, then get on it, STAT!
That's another pun intended... Can you guess which career that would be?
Thanks for sending this so quickly and so carefully wrapped @prettywithoutpinkau

Sarah's daughter is enjoying life again! Check out her story... "My daughter’s doctor referred me to put her on CBD.
It took us forever to find the right one, but we researched and when we found it changed her life!
She is not experiencing nervousness and overwhelmed, even being in crowds of people.
She is able to sleep through the whole night now and her meltdowns are non existent.
She can now think clearly, and communicate what is on her mind without getting frustrated because she can't get the words out.
The best thing is that she's happy and not emotional about everything. She smiles and loves life. That means the world to me. " 😍
So exciting!! What will your story be? Will it help you or someone you love? You'll never know until you try it. .

Two years since #TheAnxietySolution
came out 📖 . So grateful to everyone who has bought and shared about the book.
I never imagined it would reach so many people - and the messages I still get every day from people who relate to what I wrote (there are lots of us searching for the ‘perfect’ pair of jeans 👖to say the least! 🤣) makes me feel so blessed that I got the opportunity to write it.
Thanks for all your support! ❤️😘🥰🙏🏼
You know you've got a good one when he lets you dress him in this get up... And then goes out in public wearing it!
This was 10 years ago!
And it's still one of my all time favourite photos.
And I still somehow manage to convince him to do silly things for me to this day 😉
All in the name of bringing a smile to other peoples' faces; because that's the type of guy he is!

How have your kids been with school?
How have YOU been going???
Doubt is not a reason to leave, it is a reason to stay and learn more about yourself! 🌸
Ummm, all of the YES!
Who else has this super power?
Perfectly summed up by @adamjk
When we walk into the very cave that we are afraid to enter, we find exactly what it is that is holding us back and gives us a beautiful opportunity to heal and grow.
Ever feel so overwhelmed you just want to hide under a monstera leaf?
What do you do to help yourself feel less overwhelmed in the world?
Ice is a beautiful thing. In a way, I like to think of it as similar to us as humans. Pretty & (often) smooth on the surface, but hidden below is a whole other realm. .
I especially think this is true when it comes to our mental health. On the outside we want to appear like everything is a-OK. But deep below, we may be dealing with so much more. .
But why? When we have a cold, do we pretend like nothing is wrong? Maybe sometimes, but more often than not, & more importantly, it is socially more acceptable to be have a physical cold, so we don't have to pretend. Instead we gripe & commiserate with our fellow beings on how much being sick sucks. We take measures to prevent getting physically sick. A lot of us take measures to help ourselves feel better too once we are. .
So why should mental health be any different? Why do we feel shame & try to hide any type of anxiety and other mental illnesses?
As I shared a few days ago, I started a series on my blog called 'Anxiety Stories | Normalizing Anxiety in Today's World'. The series features a weekly interview with someone who has dealt with anxiety in their life. They candidly share what their anxiety looks like (and has looked like), their triggers, & resources they use to help work through it. .
Through the interviews, I want to show that anxiety, & more specificially, the symptoms people experience with anxiety, are so common. I remember during some of my darkest anxiety hours feeling like I must be the only one who has thoughts like I was having, & that made me feel like I was going crazy & oh so alone. .
With each interview, I want others to see everyday, normal people who deal with anxiety, & show that it is OK. That there is nothing to be ashamed of. And that by talking about our anxiety stories, it can not only help us, but also help other people as well to share theirs. And one by one, we can slowly work to break down the mental health stigma.
I am thrilled to share that I was interviewed by @youarecomplete
as part of their Mental Health Champion series (& the interview will be included in a roundup for @buzzfeed
). I share more about the series & my own anxiety! Link☝
Others are our mirror. Every judgement we have about another is an opportunity to reflect back on ones self and ask what it is inside that this person represents.
It could be a sense of unworthiness that I have and don’t want to acknowledge.
It could be an insecurity that I project on someone else so that I don’t have to take ownership of my own insecurities and deal with the pain that goes along with them.
Whatever the projection, it’s an opportunity to learn and grow. 🌸
Just a friendly reminder letting you know that you're AWESOME!
Oh, and also to remind you that these cuties are on sale until tomorrow only!
Great tools to help create a smooth school transition for your kids.
Or... for YOU (as I can only imagine the overload of emotions sending your kidlets off to school).
This week’s mood 🙇🏻♀️ too many deadlines, exams at work & other first world problems 🤯 .
I have been trying to just surrender myself to the fact that I’m anxious. I know it sounds counterintuitive seeing as I want more than anything not to be anxious, but when you actually move toward your anxiety & just allow yourself to experience it, without trying to flee the situation or reason your way out of it, those gross anxiety feelings and bodily sensations tend to dissipate. .
Anxiety never stays at one level; it oscillates up and down, often influenced by what you’re thinking about. When you fight the anxious feeling, you are saying to yourself, “This is horrible! I can’t cope! Something bad is going to happen”, which only makes you more anxious & can trigger a panic attack. .
In the past, I have attempted to manage anxiety by avoiding situations that I believe could cause me to be anxious. My anxiety also manifests by ruminating thoughts, so I would do things to ensure that I was ‘safe’. These strategies only work in the short term, if at all. .
Dealing with anxiety is not some elusive magic trick which I believed it was. You actually don’t need to directly do anything to alleviate the anxiety. If you can stay in the situation which causes anxiety or stay with the disturbing thoughts long enough and say to yourself: “It’s okay that I’m anxious,” the anxiety is likely to dissipate on it’s own. You are effectively retraining your brain to be less reactive to the panicky thoughts. .
This is not the easiest thing to do, but if you haven’t tried accepting & sitting with your anxiety, try it. You are likely to discover that moving toward your anxiety, instead of away from it, will ultimately leave you feeling less anxious.
The unconscious influences much of our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Why not get to know it a bit better? ☺️
So... Last night, we celebrated Rob's 40th birthday!
We asked our family and friends to come dressed wearing something that reminded them of Rob. It was so much fun seeing everyone's costumes, and learning what comes to mind when they think of him.
I wore a 'mixed lollies' dress and donut earrings because Rob LOVES lollies and donuts 🍬🍩 And I made Rob wear this because I wanted him to be 'king' for the night 👑
You'll also see my attempt at a fallen ice cream drip cake🍦🎂 - it's a stack of Wollies mud cakes, and I got my fondant on and decorated it! I wasn't going to risk baking the cake; decorating was fun, but stressful enough!
It was an awesome night and I'm so grateful to be able to celebrate the awesomeness that is Rob ♥️

I am super excited to announce a new series on my blog called 'Anxiety Stories'. For those who have been around a while, you may know that I have dealt with anxiety since I can remember, and I truly believe sharing about it not only helps me, but also helps others.
Each time I've shared something related to my anxiety, I get a number of messages from others who say they are going through the same thing! I quickly came to realize it is all so dang common. .
So if it is so common, and we have over 40 million Americans dealing with a mental illness, why the heck is there still such a stigma?
That's when I decided that I wanted to start showcasing that anxiety and mental illness is normal, through interviews with normal, everyday people from all walks of life. .
I want to show that although these mental illnesses can totally suck and be really scary, those who are dealing with them are not alone. .
And I want to work on chipping away at the ridiculous stigma that surrounds mental illness.
So today, the Anxiety Stories series premiers with my story. Check it out here: https://themindfulmomblographer.com/2019/01/24/anxiety-stories-laura-d/ or link in bio.

Gut health is so important. It is your body’s second brain. Checking for food intolerances, feeding your gut foods that are great for Your specific body, keeping hydrated, and adding in some probiotics are so important. But trusting your gut is just as important. This will allow you to decrease your stress, therefore decreasing the urge for unhealthy foods, better sleep, better decision making, and ultimately, a healthier and happier life❤️
We really, really need kids to believe this about themselves.
To be who they are.
To love who they are.
To use their super power to help others love who they are.
