✨ Many times my anxious thoughts are screaming and saying... “this is the worst thing ever. What am I going to do now?”
✨ This is an example of a what cognitive behavioral therapists call Catastrophizing.
✨ This is an irrational thought a lot of us have in believing that something is far worse than it actually is.
✨ You can do things to help yourself stop catastrophizing and learning to accept a situation for what it is.
✨ The first step to dealing with catastrophizing is to recognize when you’re doing it.

I know you can do it. You know you can do it. Deep inside, you know. Embrace this feeling. Stand up. Fight for yourself. Don't push back until next Monday. Try now. Try every second of every day. Push through. Push again. Again. Never give up on yourself. You are worth it. You deserve it. You know you do. Fight for everything you've been through. Fight for everything that's coming. Don't crawl back. Spread your wings, and face every obstacle with your chest up. It doesn't matter if you fall. You will fall. Expect to fall. What matters is that you stand right back up EVERY time, and you make another step forward. Keep it up. You're doing great.
I can't explain. Ever since Myanna was a baby, she would be fine and then come down with an illness so rapidly, it can make your head spin.
Myanna woke up this morning at 6am, with a little runny nose. Over the next few hours it got worse until she told me that her ear was hurting at around 10am. At 11am, I gave her Tylenol for the pain because we had to travel home from NY. The ride home, her nose ran the entire time... She even fell asleep, a rarity, and looked flushed. Checked her temp at home, 102.7.
I took her to an Urgent Care at 7pm, but they closed so went to ER at 8pm. Her ear had fluid, slight ear infection, red throat due to drainage. They tested for strep and the flu. She is afraid of Doctors that she doesn't know. She cried when they had to test her.
Positive for Type A flu! 😢😞😱 Her heart rate was elevated too, so I need to keep an eye on that.
They said we caught it early and the flu shot will help it not be as bad, hopefully. Daddy's picking up the tamiflu at the 24hr pharmacy. My poor peanut 😭
The nurse gave her a Minnie mouse night light! So adorable.

I talk to so many women who have HUGE dreams, but when the first NO comes along, or busy season arrives, or an obstacle gets in the way, or it's taking too long, they ditch the dream.
I hear, "God must not want me to do this." I've heard more times than I can count.
If it’s TRULY what you’re hearing from Him, I get it.
🤔But why do we assume that the things he calls us to do will be easy?
What if he’s using that dream to bring you to your knees that forces you to depend on Him??
Dreams don’t change, but the pathway to them will. You have to SHOW UP, & KEEP showing up! You will have to FIGHT for that dream. There WILL be struggle.
You will have to GROW into the woman God created you to be if that dream is going to happen.
I know you have a lot on your plate Sister. The question is… are you willing to do the hard stuff to get there?

stress is just the overachiever word for fear.
I would stress about things that didn’t matter. Like being 7 minutes late to a job that I didn’t even like. and it had to be 7 minutes late that stressed me out because I log my time in 6 minute increments and so if I’m 6 minutes late I can still be within the first 6 minute block but 7 minutes late is totally not ok. And then I’m going to get $1.40 less for the day and I NEED that $1.40 to not overdraw my bank account this weekend. Plus my boss will for sure talk to me if I’m late and i don’t want to have that conversation.
Like what? I was stressing over being late to a job that I literally hated. I had conditioned my mind that soooo many things were going to go wrong because I was worried about what may or may not happen based on the consequences of my actions.
stress just associates a meaning that something is more important than it actually is. Because the truth is that if I was 7 minutes late to work, I was going to be totally fine. If my boss had an uncomfortable conversation with me, I wasn’t going to die. If that $1.40 loss resulted in me overdrawing my bank account, I was going to be fine.
“But Ashley if you overdraw your bank account you have to pay another fee and maybe it’ll affect my credit score and...” yeah but ashley you’re still going to be fine. “But maybe you’ll get fired if you’re late.” Even in the absolutely worst case scenario that I get fired from my job for being 7 minutes late, I was going to be fine. I wasn’t going to die.
My recovery didn’t start until I realized that if my shelter, clothing and safety aren’t at risk, I am always going to be fine. #mentalhealthmonday #healthymindhealthylife

There’s nothing worse than feeling sick on the inside but looking “ok” on the outside. I secluded myself from people for years due to medical issues and anxiety. But I try so hard to not let my ailments stop me from being a great mum to my kids and I’ve now stopped trying to explain myself to people who don’t understand! It creates more stress and anxiety which makes me worse! I have my tribe and I love that they accept me for being me, flaws and all!
