Let’s talk about fear for a moment, fear plays a huge role in our daily lives. In fact, fear is the barrier between you and your success. I can vouch for that in many different ways; I was afraid of letting people down, not being worthy, being a failure, being successful, being alone, being single, not owning up to my own standards, being rejected… and I mean the list goes on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That crippling fear never allowed me to become my true authentic self, because I was always afraid. I was sitting in an examination room fixated on the clock, my heart began to race, my chest got tighter, my legs started shaking uncontrollably, and I could barely breathe. . That was my first panic attack. . I had no idea that that one panic attack would domino into so many more. . It was a learned behaviour from that moment on. Every time I knew I was about to write a test, my body went into panic mode trying to protect me. . It took years of work to unlearn that associated behaviour and to stop the panic from automatically occurring. . Have you ever had a bad experience somewhere and when you go back there, the memory of that bad experience is the first thing you think of? . Your brain is trying to warn you. . We have to be able to tell our body when we are okay. We have to feel comfortable communicating with our cells to ensure they know we are safe. . This is where your mindset and self-awareness becomes KEY. . One of my story posts tonight talks about Anxiety! I truly feel everyone has experienced some type of anxiety in there life. Whether it was having to do a school project in front of the class, sports game, exams etc. • But at the same time there are many different degrees of it. Before starting my online coaching business. For the last two years to be exact, I found myself struggling socially, became very awkward, I didn’t look forward to any events, social outings with my husband. When we first bought our first home I truly didn’t feel the excitement I should have felt. I felt it was causing self confidence issues in myself and making it hard on the beginning of our marriage. I felt like I was missing something, I had lost myself. No longer committed to eating healthy or any type of fitness regimen. • Then this opportunity came smack dab in front of my face and I truly knew from the second I saw it, I had to do this. Helping people live a positive and healthy lifestyle. Meeting a community of people and being surrounded by positivity every single day. It’s been overwhelmingly life changing. Almost hard to put into words. • Friends I encourage you to find what makes you happy, it won’t happen right away or sometimes when you need it too. But when the opportunity comes up, take a leap of faith, you won’t regret it ❤️😊
Each branch represents a direction you can go. . You have so many choices, so many doors, so many paths, even if it doesn’t always feel that way. . Don’t allow the thoughts in your head to limit you, to hold you back. . Stop focusing on all the reasons why you can’t do something and spend your energy finding a way to do it. . Ask yourself right now, what is holding you back? When you really step back and listen to your answer, you may find it’s an excuse, often one that is deeply rooted in fear. . Stop being scared, believe in yourself. . Start to repeat affirmations daily to help re-wire your brain. Whatever your fear is, create an affirmation to prove to yourself that it is not true. . In fact, the only thing that keeps me from becoming bitter is that I understand the value of it. I hate the pain, but I have to accept that in order to experience the future blessings. It is all about how I view the situation. . I don't know about you, but the last time I went to Wal-Mart, I did not see the following items anywhere on the shelves: God's love being shown more evident than before, certain Bible verse with special meaning, urgency to keep living life in spite of the pain because life is short, unexpected "God" conversations and opportunities, and so much more. These are the intangibles in life that cannot be purchased anywhere in the world. . Hump day calls for coffee coffee COFFEEE — but not too much for my anxiety-prone self 😅 _ I love the taste, smell and social aspect of drinking coffee. Unfortunately, as much as I love me a cup of joe, it doesn’t necessarily love me back. I’ve had panic attacks hit me SO QUICKLY after just one cup of coffee. Ugh, can’t a girl just enjoy a pumpkin spice latte? 🙄 _ I’ve learned it’s best for me to keep my coffee intake to just one cup, a few days a week (dedicating the weekend mornings to a fancy latte because #brunch ). Another trick? Decaf. Or a cup of half regular, half decaf, which cuts the caffeine without cutting the deliciousness. _ Now, anyone got a better-for-you, low-caffeine PSL recipe they can share? Cheers! ☕️

I have become so crystal clear on my goals because my vision for my future self is so clear. I know what my life WILL look like because I am in charge of crafting it. 🍠Sweet Potato, Spinach and Lentil Soup 🍠🤤 . . It’s suppose to be 80 degrees today, but it got pretty chilly last night and my house holds the cold really well (great during the summer), so I have been freezing today. . . I decided to make sweet potato soup. I took a poll in my Instagram Stories, to see if anyone would be interested in Instant Pot recipes and some said yes! Yay! . . I love my Instant Pot and I’m pretty much using it daily! . . So here is how I made this soup in the instant pot! With this recipe, it’s hard to give exact measurements, so you should just play around with it. It’s hard to mess up. . Grab how ever many sweet potatoes you want. I cooked a medium batch, so I can have about two more bowls worth during the week. I used 6 small to medium sweet potatoes. . Stab all the sweet potatoes with a fork several times. I leave the skin on because the skin is packed with vitamin and minerals. . Put sweet potatoes in the Instant Pot and I like my soap a little thick, so I add just enough water that it doesn’t completely cover the sweet potatoes. . Put the top on and pressurize for 30 minutes. After it is done, of course depressurize completely. And take the lid off. . I then added the spinach and used my immersion blender to blend it all up (if you have one a regular blender will work, preferably a glass one). . I had green lentils that I previously cooked in the Instant Pot. (Here is how I cooked them, I rinsed them, added to Instant Pot and enough water to cover all the lentil, plus about another inch. And pressurized for 13 minutes.) . . I added some lentils in my giant mug, then my sweet potato and spinach soup. I then added cumin powder, chili powder and cinnamon to taste (sounds like a weird combo, but it totally worked) and topped with cilantro and pumpkin seeds! . I know that I’m always trying to post about positivity, healthy mindsets and healthy lifestyles, and while I love making positive posts, I don’t want it to seem like that’s always how I am outside of this page. I want to make it clear that there are still times where I get stressed, anxious, or just have bad days in general. . Lately I’ve been getting in my own head, living too much in the future, and not enough in the present. I’ve noticed my thoughts have shifted and I’ve been consumed by anxiety about what the future is going to hold for me. To be honest I’ve felt a sense of guilt for posting all of these positive quotes, because I’m making it seem like that’s always how my mindset is, when in reality it’s not. I’m human and I still struggle sometimes. We all do from time to time. . In the past, this would’ve taken me months or even years to recognize these patterns that were occurring. Not this time though. I’ve taken some time to reflect and acknowledge this thought pattern. I’m taking initiative, I’m holding myself accountable to live in the present moment, live each day as they come, and to enjoy each moment to the fullest. The past is gone, the future hasn’t come yet, and all we have is this present moment right now. Yes, it’s super important to work towards your goals and look ahead, but it becomes toxic when you stop being present and become consumed with fear and stress about what the future holds. SO YUM 😋 junk food makes me cranky... • • This is a real thing, not just something a health professional tells you to eat more vegetables 😂 • • Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is responsible for hunger and satiety signals, sleep, pain inhibitors and YOUR MOOD!! • • What a lot of people don’t recognize is 95% of your serotonin is made in your gut! And if that bacteria in your gut is good bacteria then guess what... you get moody AF! • • That being said, do we need to remove everything from our diet? No, I believe there is always room to fit in the foods we love, but if they are affecting us negatively, do they really love us? • • I would suggest making an alternative choice, so you can still enjoy all the foods you love without the side effects! The look of someone trying to figure out wtf is going on with her brain. This was me two years ago getting an EEG. Only 6 months prior, I had 2 grand mal seizures. I spent the previous 6 months fucking around with med after med and side effects galore. I was depressed (one med made me bipolar), had rashes and were still having auras (the feeling you get right before a seizure) with no answers. This was the moment that I finally stood up for myself. All the blood and brain tests were normal, no signs of seizures so why the fuck was I torturing myself with meds and side effects? At the end of that testing, I told the doctor no more. No more meds, no more tests. I was putting my health and body and self first. The only fucks I had to give were for myself. Fight for yourself. Don't let anyone else come in the way. I love love love this new saying I think it's definitely a keeper. We often try to do everything all at once and then we don't actually get anything done. We start habits to Never follow through and spread ourselves to thin to stay busy. Our brains are programmed to think that if we aren't always busy then we must be lazy. Stop. Just stop thinking that because it's not true.
