Let me start by saying I typically NEVER will make a post about an activist, nor would I make a post bashing a method. I don’t feel this type of behavior benefits the movement. However, when someone makes a post about a form of activism that I support, I’m going to give my thoughts on it. Where do I fucking start with this kid. The goal isn’t to get them to give up their fur, nor is the goal to get them to go Vegan. If I protest sea world, the goal is to get sea world to STOP...it’s not a vegan outreach event. If a trophy hunter walks into the room, and I going to educate him about how horrible killing lions is, and expect to turn him/her Vegan?!, or would you assume that he’s just heartless and enjoys killing wildlife and it’s extremely unlikely that he/she will ever go Vegan?!...so that’s where a shaming method comes in handy. If this person is shamed enough times, they may reconsider wearing fur again, killing lions (Walter Palmer), or fighting Pit Bulls (Michael Vick). It really pisses me off to see an activist who’s main approach is Vegan outreach, try to tell me that my approach is wrong. I’m on the streets week after week, month after month, year after year, decade after fucking decade. We are seeing more change than ever when it comes to the issue of fur. Designers dropping fur, cities banning fur, and countries ending fur farming. And guess what?!...the main fur activism you ever see happening is typically always aggressive. Whether it be shaming fur wearers, disrupting celebrity events, or protesting designers. You will RARELY see actions that are peaceful and loving...so what a narcissist to basically assume that your way will outdo OUR way...the reason the topic of fur is actually being discussed again is because some of us decided to NOT focus on what makes US comfortable, but instead focus on EFFECTIVE activism. After all, activism is about rights...not kindness and love. So, with all that being said, do what YOU feel is most effective. But what you should never do is make a post bashing other activists or bashing other methods. This is a MOVEMENT. We’re supposed to be on the same team, regardless if we all support each other.
