The Diffused gene has been in the hobby since the 1970s. Originally, bloodred corns were considered the diffused gene that were line bred for red. Now we have separated the gene that may be responsible for their "bloodred" look; masque. I believe this animal is a diffused masque. I believe "enhancer" genes like masque, red factor, and red coat will play a large part in many of my projects moving forward.
