Big cities aren’t really for me, but if I am choosing to be in one I like it to at least have insane sunsets, rad architecture, and a beautiful body of water! Wandering Wednesday post coming a little late! Sorry I’ve been a little MIA folks, got caught up in dancing, wandering and spending time with good people!
Left the blue skies of the Sound for the snow and grey of Leavenworth.
Backyard hangs - the snow is melting but there will be more tomorrow 😂 hello Cincinnati winter - quite a roller coaster 🎢
There is snow forecast for tonight in England! ❄️☃️❄️☃️❄️ I am so excited to wake up tomorrow.... but what are the odds that there be none!! Probably pretty high! 😅
Always say yes to adventure 🙌⠀

Fresh mountain air > everything 🏔
Fall season in Rainier is Magic.
9 months (and 3 days) ago my life changed forever ❤
and I had been on the road traveling for 5 months.
Just the two of us and our 1990 Chevy van.
We had just visited all 5 national parks in Utah and we were debating heading south to see the Grand Canyon before going west.
Our time on the road was running short and with so much left to see I didn't think it would be worth it.
I wanted to visit at a later date when we would have more time.
But Kyle convinced me to go the extra couple hundred miles while we were already so close.
And I'm so glad he did.
We visited Lake Powell and Horseshoe Bend that morning.
We were blown away by the scenery. It was our first time experiencing the west and all of its magic.
We were in the middle of nowhere chugging 60 mph almost to the grand canyon when all of a sudden Kyle spotted something running in the ditch.
I didn't see the animal and as we flew by he asked if he should stop so I could see too.
Once again I was hesitant. Always in a hurry to get where we were going.
But he stopped anyways.
And I'm so glad he did.
That moment we discovered not only 1 but 3 malnourished very thirsty puppies.
We climbed out of the van and worked our way back towards them.
Three little pups.
In the ditch in Arizona.
We were very hesitant at first and so were they.
Next thing we knew we were getting attacked... with all the love!
We had puppy fever so this was perfect! We gave them water, the moment passed and we realized we couldn't just leave them on the side of that highway, but what were we to do with them?
Where did they come from?
We were in the middle of the desert. No houses for miles. And the closest town was twice as far. How did they get here? How long have they been out here? This one can't be more then 8 weeks old, we decide. How has she survived? What will we do with them? All the shelters are high kill. Let's put them in the van and see if we can find where they came from. Do they have a family? If they do they better hope I don't find them. That shack? No way someone lives there. Let's take them back to town maybe someone there knows.
And that was the day my life changed forever.
The day we found our @desertditchdogs
This isn't from today's run, but it was awesome too.
Love days in the mountains that bring out the insane crooked smile!
Dreaming of watermelon smoothies in paradise 🍉

day nine- swooning over the natural curvaceous body of mother earth. these slot canyons are by far at the top of my favorite places in the US and maybe even the world. there’s so many stories being whispered by the rocks and enchantment around every corner. down here it’s hard to remember you’re still on planet earth.☄️
Breaking trail and finding some good stuff

There comes a time in everyone's life where something changes us. A spark is ignited, a connection is established, and everything just feels "right". You feel you can take on the world and there isnt anything that can stop you. In 2014 I took my first trip to Colorado. When I saw those gorgeous Rocky Mountains for the first time looking over the huge skylines of Denver. I was instantly hooked. .
Throughout the years I took several trips back to the great state. Hiking, storm chasing, you name it. I loved it. Each trip becoming longer than the last. Each time it became harder and harder to leave. There was just something that felt "right" here. Even the people. After my 3 weeks of hiking 14ers last year I left and later that year I said I was going to find a way to call this place home. Well, its 2019 and I'm proud to say I have! I said, and I did. I got approved for an apartment in Colorado Springs and will be calling this place home come February 8th with my best friends @cold_as_mold_
If you want something in life that seems impossible. Theres always a way to make it work. Just reach out and grab it and dont let a single person say that you cant. .

One of my favorite landscapes of Utah. It might be clichéd to say this, but it really is like another planet. @visitutah
A beautiful sunset at @sugarbowlresort
just before winter kicked in. If you’ve been watching our stories, Jess has been learning to ski at this resort. We’re making the most of our house sitting opportunity and putting some serious time and effort creating art from video footage we’ve shot over the last 4 years. It’s been a blast reliving old experiences. We can’t wait to share them with you!
Congrats to this babe on winning a very well-deserved promotion at work. So proud, and can't wait to celebrate with some backcountry yurt adventures (and maybe some 🍾) this weekend.
Got the day off work and I’m over here just trying to stay warm on this cold day! What’s your favorite rainy/cold day activity?
Happy hump day!
