“incineration” | rice & resin |
The complex relationship people have with their identity is an exertion everyone experiences. We are constantly trying to find our “community” or “group” or “category” we belong to; being a minority made this even more strenous. Immigrating from Korea to America was a drastic shift from an established home with security to the oblivion. When my family first came to America, my parents strived to build something out of nothing. Thus, we had to be very conservative of our resources. My father always told me at the dinner table, “Every grain of rice you leave in your bowl is a bead of sweat of the farmer who worked for it”. Rice holds great signficance in Asian culture and it was a personal reminder for me to never take anything for granted. However as I began to get more and more assimilated into American culture the more ungrateful I became. Not with what I had, but with my identity as a Korean. People categorized me with the common stereotypes of an Asian girl: straight black hair, small eyes, and yellow skin. Various subtle encounters of discrimination slowly created an uncomfort in my own skin. I began to battle my identity as a Korean-American and this internal conflict left me in utter defiance to myself. | special thanks to holland from design and production for letting me use the studios

Nigerian Boy, Timothy Oyebola Shot Dead In The US
A 16-year-old boy playing basketball at a Brooklyn park was fatally shot in the head Friday, authorities said.
Timothy Oyebola lived in Jamaica, Queens and attended Brooklyn Ascend HS.
He was likely not the intended target, police said.
He was in the Chester Playground in Brownsville at 4 p.m. when he was gunned down. “As they were playing, shots were fired into the park. The shots were fired quite a distance away — over 100 feet,” said NYPD Deputy Chief Michael Kemper.
The high-achieving academic teen and his sister came to the US from Lagos in 2013.
“My son was a calm, quiet, obedient child, ” grieving dad David Oyebola told The Post. “He’s intelligent. He loved sports and basketball. Very ambitious. He’s a boy who had a brighter future. He was constantly going for what he wanted to do in life. He wanted to become a doctor or an engineer.” #usa #American #students #stunt #rip #boy #macdanielsblog #death #crime #embassy #news

’s new Black Ops carbon fiber rear diffuser! ☑️ Such a simple addition can make such a large impact on the vehicle, and the carbon fiber is a nice touch as well. 🤤
Would you go for a painted or exposed carbon fiber rear diffuser for your ride? 🤔 let us know!
Inside the mouth of the dragon is the metaphorical feeling I had being inside the CCTV building in Beijing China. I owe a lot to my handlers, translators, my extended network that made this kind of access possible. First very few people get to see the Great Wall in this kind of spectacular light because this is at sunrise at 5:30 am local time after riding 2 hours to get here. Afterwards my handlers asked where I would like to go and I said the CCTV building since it an iconic building in Beijing meaning I would like pictures around the building. On a side note my handlers took the day off from work at CCTV to escort us around. What happened next I could have never expected. First what I said was translate into I want to go inside the CCTV building and our handler used his Guanxi to make it happen. First Guanxi to my understanding is a Chinese network of favors that can get things done faster and sometimes bend rules a little bit depending on who you are and who you know. In the US this could be called nepotism or favoritism and can get people in trouble. We all knew we were pushing the limits and quickly realized when we crossed the limit. This happened on the 47 floor of the CCTV building looking down through the glass viewing portals (see image 2 and 3). When a large white guy who looked like an American movie producer saw me with my National Geographic hat and gave me a very clear look of how the hell did you get in here and what the hell are you doing. Being a highly restricted area even for employees (there is an armed guard in image 4 that you can't see guarding the area) we knew this isn't good. We we're quickly escort out of building. My handler was in trouble and could have potentially lost his job. He asked me not to publish any images inside the building and that is why they are censored on my feed and very fitting considering this is the headquarters of censorship for news. My handler than asked me to return some Guanxi by going to dinner and having drinks with a higher up that could show I wasn't a threat or didn't mean any harm in what I was doing. Drinking in Chinese culture is important in showing trust and honestly with others.

How can i escape from this terrible nightmare?
Bring me to take a Sweet!😜🙃
