It's been a couple of weeks since I've posted for #motherlovinmonday
(mostly bc I was annoyed that I hadn't had BabyGirl yet...) And tonight's post is a #twoforone
- it's also #mcm
Without going into too much detail, on Friday night I went into labor and delivered Daisy by eeeearly Sat morning, but like most labors (and lots of things in life) it didn't go exactly as I thought it might. Things progressed too quickly for an epidural, and I ended up delivering completely naturally. (And by natural, I mean I definitely made some insanely primal 🐆 noises during this crazy miracle of squeezing another being out of me and into this world!) As it is, I couldn't be happier with the experience, (shoutout to the AMAZING staff 💖 at SMH and the AWESOME midwife on call 🦄), but when I first realized what I had to do, I honestly did not think I could do it. I had a moment of sheer fear and absolute complete and total loss of self-confidence and it was NOT good... until my sweet husband looked me right in the eyeballs and told me I could. It was a moment I'll never forget, and I'm not sure even he understands what he did for me. He's not a photo fella, so it's hard to get pix of him, but in another #amazinghusband
move, he also snapped this first pic of my daughter and me in the moment. Not a perfect photo of me in many ways, but I LOVE IT. 😍
Of course, relationships all take work and we've got our problems like everyone else, but as always, I like to try to focus on the good...
So to sum up, #motherlovah
, find yourself a partner who does this kind of stuff for you. The good stuff. The really good stuff that actually matters.
