As I mentioned in my previous post, after I escaped the rehabilitation center In Houston in December of 2011, “Mentis”, I was sent to a center in Conroe, Texas, “Touchstone”. I don’t have any pictures of that rehabilitation center, but it was the same idea as the one in Houston - therapy and a place to live.
This center had better occupational therapy opportunities, as it had better art studios and even a printmaking station! #OfCourseIDesignedAShirt
However, it was so long ago, that I don’t have any pictures - or the shirt! (maybe I do, I’ll look for it)
Anyone who knows me, knows that I absolutely love art!
This picture shows me at an art studio within the rehab center, and although my paintings looked like those of a first grader, at least I was working my creative abilities 😂
I was physically capable and mentally stable by February 2012; but the only thing holding me back was my trouble-making personality; which had always been there, and rehabilitation wasn’t going to fix that! #AlwaysInTrouble #Deviance
Although I was never medically discharged, I went home on an “AMA order” (Against Medical Advice) on February 10th of 2012.
So, instead of paying even MORE money to stay in rehab, my father decided to bring me home and attend outpatient therapy at TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston.
Eventually, I enrolled back in school, I started working out, and continued working on improving my life.
What’s next? #PostRehabLife
Rest In Peace to both of my grandparents, who visited me from Cancun and stayed in Texas for a good six months to support me. I will never forget who all was there through the hardest year of my life so far. #BRAINDAMAGE
Ps: I contacted my brother last night and he sent me some pictures he had from a long time ago, so I will be contacting whoever is in a picture I’d like to post or blog about, for permission to post! #StayTuned #BookComing #DafneWithAnF #TheSleepyYogini #RandomPicturesComing
