Whatever your motivation I have found that it only lasts if it comes from inside you. External reasons never last. They always fizzle. Find the desire inside YOU. Mmmm son! You ever have one of those days where things just hit you like a ton of bricks?! I did today. Lately I have been completely overwhelmed, overworked and allowing things and people in my space that were DRRRRAAAAIIIINNNNIIINNNGG me. Here's the thing. I know without a doubt that I am living in my purpose. I know that my love of music, dance, my creativity and my sillyness are my gifts to get others to move their body and help them realize how absolutely bad ass their life is or can be. Yet in an effort to serve, I was allowing anyone to have a piece of me. And not everyone deserves that. You see the rules are simple. Wake up! Work out! Kick ass and repeat! Take care of yourself and you can take care of others. To my fellow coaches and trainers I just want to say you're doing a good job!!! I took this pic before the cold front. Y’all, it was 58 today which meant bringing out sweaters and jackets and running in long sleeves for this Texas girl 😂 . There’s something serene about this spot. Lacing up my running shoes at dusk and running through some beautiful trails alongside tons of God’s amazing creatures just rejuvenates me. It’s my time to organize my thoughts and rid myself of stress. A friend, @kedunn31 , asked today what you do to “rest” each day (rather than waiting for a vacay to recharge). I know one of mine is running. What’s your favorite way to rejuvenate or “rest” yourself??
Went into the free weight room by myself for the first time tonight! Did 3 sets of 20 deadlifts! I was always intimidated by all the guys lifting in the weight room! I was the only woman in there, but it wasn't scary like I thought it would be! I used to only go into the weight room with my trainer, as I wasn't alone! Challenging my fears feels good and builds my confidence! I'm going to do at least one exercise by myself, in the free weight room, each time I go to the gym! That way I'll get used to it!☺ I always went to the gym by myself! I was really insecure and shy at first. I had a trainer who was really good at making me feel comfortable! He challenged me to try new things! Trying workout classes really helped me feel like part of the group and helped me to meet other people. The more confident I became, the more people I would meet! The more I stepped out of my comfort zone the more I grew! So my challenge for you, is to try something new! I had tried all kids of diets and each time which would work for a little time but then I gained it all back along with more weight. As I got older those diets were not working and working out in the gym did not work either. I found my weight to be an all-time high of 219 lbs and along with it my self esteem and drive at an all-time low. 😩I had medical training!!! I thought I knew what to do. I felt like a failure to myself and my family. I had no energy, constant back pain and no more drive to try another fad diet. I thought the only way I was going to change permanently was surgery. A friend of mine referred me to a health coach so I reached out to her in my one last time desperation. I started this amazing program and in the middle of my first week I honestly didn't think it was going to work because I felt like I was eating more now then I ever had before in my life. My mentality of "you had to eat less to lose weight" was not what I was doing. I confessed this to my personal health coach and she encouraged me to complete that first week. I was so scared to hop on the scale at my week 1 mark, but I was incredibly surprised at my success. That sparked my excitement in this program and I have been excited every since!!!! I maintained a high energy level through out my weight loss, I did not to take shots or pills to suppress my appetite. I could cross my legs and tie my shoes with no struggles. WHY do I want to start a fitness account? Well, I’ll be honest with you - I don’t, but I’ve been in such a weird a place with my body lately that I need to start holding myself accountable. . I feel like I’ve exhausted everything in my journey - Weight Watchers, Noom, macros, Beach Body, Atkins, fasting, home workouts, trainers, the gym - and while I’m not canceling anything out, I’m just... tired. . I’ll admit that when something starts going right for me, I get lazy. Or if I have an off day, I brace myself for an off week instead of getting back on the horse. It’s all mental & it’s where I fail repeatedly. . So, my goal is to start doing things my way and slowly getting to where I need to be. This account will document my workouts - home, yoga, gym, classes, whatever I’m feeling & will be a reminder of the good things I put into my body. . I’m hoping that I can inspire myself to be comfortable in my skin and with the choices I make for myself. . I’m using it as a way to release my thoughts on health and wellness while my main account is for my life experiences. . I hope this account encourages myself and others to be positive and patient and kind to ourselves. 💕
