空港の景色を見ていたら、モスクワただいま!って感じがして嬉しくってニヤニヤしながら歩いていた、あやしいエアポート投稿おじさんです。おそロシアのいつものラウンジに。 . . ↓↓ここからは興味のある方だけ読んで下さい!すみません↓↓ . . . . . アレクサンダーテクニークってなんだろう?と機上で考えてみた。 . ①問題を問題と感じるとき、感じかたにおかしな事が起きているのではないか?要するに自分が問題を作っている可能性。肩が凝ったと言いながら自分で肩を固めているとか。 ②問題を観察するとき、誤った見方をしているのではないか?肩が固まるのは姿勢が悪いからだ、など。 ③解決策により、より悪化する可能性はないか?姿勢を正すために背筋を伸ばそう、や、マッサージで肩を楽にしよう、など。背中が痛くなったり、翌日には元どおり、など。 ④凝っている肩、肩が固まる環境、ストレス、過去のトラウマ、に原因を求めるのではなく、部分だけを良くしようとするのではなく(繋がりを無視した取り組みは悪化する)、自分全部の使い方が、間違っている事が原因と考える。正しいことをやろうとするのではなく、正しくないことをやめる実践をしていく。 ⑤プライマリーコントロールが機能することで、健康や生活の質の向上、改善が期待できる。(それが起きるための基本原則をすっ飛ばして、変化が起きやすいアクティビティ的なことをやって、良くなっただ変わっただと披露するのは、アレクサンダーテクニークでの変化とは違う事が起きているのは言うまでもない。) . #alexandertechnique #アレクサンダーテクニーク #海外研修

this is what (re)building from scratch looks like. by and large i've been a burnt out violinist for four years, barely able to keep up appearances. my health went to zero exactly while i was receiving some of the best, most intense instruction i've ever had (violinistically, mentally, physically, intellectually). my health tanked partly *because* of the sudden richness of resources and pressures: studying with simon and other new mentors, learning alexander technique, doing practice-based research, working with a counselor, surviving in a huge city - all of these experiences involved Unlearning things my body or mind believed were correct or helpful. even though it's an important process, when you're not prepared for it, Unlearning can be draining and graceless for whomever is privy to the behind-the-scenes of pretense. burnout is a tough thing to face when you wanna stay on the Ambitious-Achievement highway, but my life path had ideas of its own. so here i am, relearning basics, and compared to three years ago when i would literally vomit just from looking at my violin, me actually choosing to play now, and to be patient and work through it all gently, is like a miracle. i'm deciding not to be ashamed of where i'm at anymore - pretending is more tiring than being burnt out at this point, so i want to be more transparent about it. my violinist self has never felt so tender and vulnerable but also so curious and whole, and to be honest i would rather be here like this - renewed and working on one scale, one habit at a time - than having gone on like 'normal' but none the wiser about how my own body and mind function and how they can relate to my profession more sustainably. #bodybasedpractice #basics #alexandertechnique #healthymusician #changetheconversation #simonfischer #london #guildhallgrad #practice #violin #violinist #performer #musician #violinpractice #scales

In 2007, mental health first aid training was launched under the Department of Health by the National Institute of Mental Health in England as part of a national approach to improving public mental health. Mental health first aid is now a global movement with programmes in at least 24 countries, including the US, where more than one million people have received training. In focus: signs to spot Among the first signs of mental ill health may be changes in the person’s behaviour. Here are some of the most common, by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). – Emotional or behavioural changes include irritability, tearfulness, being withdrawn, being unable to concentrate, erratic behaviour, loss of confidence or difficulty remembering things. – Physical changes could be frequent headaches, stomach upsets, difficulty sleeping, constant tiredness, frequent. I’ve been traveling a lot lately, sitting in buses, cars, and trains. The seats do not lend themselves to great “use” and so I think about ‘going with’ the chair (thank you Ann Rodiger), allowing my neck to be free, and staying aware of my sits bones and feet related to the floor. The most rigorous part is actually paying attention. It’s so worth it though! . . . This is all a useful reminder that “thoroughness” can still be achieved, no matter what pattern we assume. . . . <アレクサンダーテクニック>の日本での第一人者である小野ひとみ先生のボイストレーニングのプライベートレッスンを久しぶりに受けました。 NYでの<ソーマティックボイスワーク>の先生達から学んだ事について日本では私以外にその指導者がいないため渡米してアップデートするか、自分自身で研究していますが、 小野ひとみ先生には、<ボディマッピング>のワークショップ受けて以来プライベートレッスンもたまに受けています 。 日々の自分で歌う中で、またはレッスンで教える中で、生まれた疑問を<アレクサンダーテクニック>という違った視点から見て頂いた事で多角的に理解できた点があったり、 以前の小野ひとみ先生に言われた事について腑に落ちなかった事が今回「ああ、そういう事だったんだな」と、納得できた瞬間もあったり。 もう一つの発見は、身体について、またはその使い方についてのマスター達(ボディワーカー)は言い方やアプローチは違えど、同じことを言っているという事。 自分の歌(発声)についての疑問だけではなく、指導法についてもアドバイス頂いた際に、 「随意筋をどうこう動かそうとする意識を細かく指導をするよりは、デモをしてその音の違いについて耳から理解させてイメージをハッキリと掴み取らせることが重要。なぜなら、全て脳からの指令で発声しているから、結果論として起こってる発声の不具合時の喉頭や声帯の状態に注目するだけではダメ。」 だからこそ、アーティキュレーションによって言葉を正しく発音することが、表現や言葉を伝えるというだけでなく発声の面からも大事で、それは発音と身体の使い方、意識の全てタイミングを一致させていくということでしたが、 今読んでいる武術研究者の甲野善紀先生の本も、「教師が実際に実技を示すことで生身の身体の細かな動きを見たり聞いたりして、自分とは違うという”違和感”を生徒に持たせることによって習得できるように導ける」ということと趣旨は同じだなと発見がありました。 私もよく、発声時に心と体を”エンゲージさせる”(意識や身体の使い方を一致させる)という言い方もしますが、小野ひとみ先生も、甲野善紀先生も、そしてNYの先生であるジーニーも、SOMATIC(ソーマティック)=心身一体であることの重要性を説いています。 ボイスワークもボディワークも結局は歌うときにどちらも繋がっているので、その理解を深めることはシンガーとしてもボイストレーナーとしてもとても大事なことだなと思います。 とても奥深くてその興味は尽きないな . . . . #発声の出しやすさは芸術表現へのイメージから実現する #そのための身体機能の理論からの指導だけでなく聴覚と筋感覚の意識を具体的に高める導きが重要 #voicetraining #voicework #bodywork #alexandertechnique #hitomiono #小野ひとみ #武術研究者 #甲野善紀 #somaticvoicework #ソーマティックボイスワーク #jeinielavetri #Newyorkvoicetraining #ニューヨークボイストレーニング #藤本涼子

Alexander // The Alexander Technique has been required in conservatories like Juilliard for years (and is also studied by actors) because of its emphasis on freedom through natural movement within the body, which is key for performing effectively and often! // AT is about aligning the neck and keeping the head free from the neck, keeping the body aligned in breath, and staying aware of tension in the body. The technique teaches you to NOT lock your abs, which is contrary to appaggio breathing. AT follows the natural rhythm of an inhale then singing on a slow moving “Ah”, while the solar plexus is the only thing that stays out. The back, belly, and ribcage expand, but as you exhale, they slowly start to come in as opposed to pressing out, like in appaggio breathing. Following the bodies natural rhythm as opposed to locking trains your body to find the most natural state of breathing, which releases tension that often takes hold within a singers body during stressful situations like performing on stage, singing in a higher register, singing through vocal fatigue, etc. // Try this exercise: Sitting with you feet flat on the floor, imagine elongating the back of the neck right through to the top of your head. Leaning forward slightly, find the most comfortable position. Inhale and exhale without thinking about the breath. Now, take a deep breath and as soon as you fill your lung capacity comfortably, begin the exhale through the mouth. This should be a natural deep breath from low in your stomach, almost like a full body yawn. Inhale again but this time on the exhale, pretend that the breath is coming out the mouth in a silent “ah”. Do not make any noise, instead just notice the pace of your breath. It should be calm, slow, free of tension, and create a warm sensation as it gently flows out the mouth. On the next inhale/exhale, try phonating a note comfortable in your range on an audible “Ah”. This morning I chose green tea over coffee or black tea. I paused and checked in with my body to ask, “What beverage resonates with my system this morning? What am I being called to drink today?” And then I followed through with the answer I got rather than just overriding it and choosing coffee again... More of that please... more pausing to listen to the call of the moment in a way that resonates deep in your gut, heart, mind and soul. And more responding to that call rather than just ignoring it and going with what’s familiar. More of that at a personal depth level and for all beings on this earth...pick up the phone.
