being brutally honest 💗 The last 7 days have been life changing.
But the last 24 hours took the cake and my emotions are running wild.
Wild horses & donkeys wandering around the lodge at the base of Cotopaxi, waking up at 10pm after 1.5 hours of sleep to hike, “splitting up the band” this afternoon, a special connection, was sent videos & photos of my minis that I’m missing so much..... But mostly having to turn around on a pretty much uphill 4000 foot climb through glaciers & crevasses that we ended up 182 vertical feet short from the Cotopaxi volcano summit - sits 19347. Because of me. I couldn’t move my feet for the last pitch. After several crying bouts, melt downs, and getting back up, my stubborn self finally couldn’t take another step.
Cotapaxi will always be special. It taught me many new things & feelings 💗😖🤦🏽♀️🥶😱 About diving in, defeat, ego, letting people down, respect, feelings, friends, gratitude, special friendships... I’ll always be grateful for Steve & Jaime.
Steve helped and pushed me the rest of the way up and even though we were SO CLOSE to the top, he turned around to help me vs bagging the volcano peak. It’s not very often you find some as genuinely as real of a person and friend as Steve ☺️☺️☺️ Jaime I’ve learned so much from you. I didn’t know much about mountaineering and now I’m not nearly as afraid as crevasses and being on a rope line. Plus all the fun company, enjoyment, and support... I’m going to miss the heck out of you :) @mikeycrouch @gaspar.navarrete.gangotena
