First post of the new year! It’s been a minute since I’ve posted on this thing, sometimes a break is necessary. I contemplated writing out how hard 2018 was for me (it truly was a hard year) lots of ups and downs, more downs really. But I’m going to save you the misery and instead I will say that although it was a very challenging mentally physically spiritually - literally everything - year that I’m still struggling with, it was another year that I conquered & survived, found more self growth and got to travel/hike to some awesome new places (like this gorgeous alpine lake) I have a lot of goals that I plan on accomplishing in 2019 and a lot of changes I plan on making that I am very excited for. It’s time to truly put myself first! Get rid of the old that no longer serves me purpose and brings negativity - bring on the new that will challenge me even if it scares me! Peace out 2018, bring it on 2019 ✌🏼🗻✨

Thursday sunsets were made for walks in the beach 😍😍😍 #SunsetParty
Following a paved trail may be the safest thing to do, but I've come to realize that getting lost, figuring things out, and finding my own path is where the adventure lies. At the end of every hike, it's a rewarding feeling to find some of the most beautiful landscape views I never even knew existed. These are the memories worth creating over and over. 💚
You should always think big, love big, dream big. But as often as you can, return to the mountains to feel small. Your soul will thank you 🌲
don’t forget that life is beautiful🌞
Which one's your favorite tent for camping?
When you stop, stand still and appreciate the peace of being in nature, a smile will form on your face 😊 @littlewood.photography
People ask how I go on the go. And I always say “that’s a strange thing to want to know.” And I’ll tell ya what- things go better with the backpack John! It even doubles as a campfire chair (as pictured)! And at just 3 pounds it’s a great addition for your next adventure! #sponsored
How often do you go outside your comfort zone?
I’m getting ready to apply to PA school and it is reminding me of a fear I have run from for a number of years now; the fear of failing. Imagining the outcome of failing is depressing and terrifying and yet the outcome of getting in is just as scary. It will mean a change to my social network, lifestyle, and entire life. It would be the biggest change to my comfort zone ever. I’ve traveled solo, kayaked waterfalls and rapids that nearly made me shit my pants, and changed jobs and social circles a lot in the past five years but this is something bigger and scarier.
Writing the thoughts that run through my brain for the internet to scrutinize and critique is also something outside my comfort zone. I stay behind the lens (most of the time) for a reason. I don’t like being or feeling like I’m under the microscope. Pushing our comfort zone is the only way we change and grow and that is something I say I want. And most of the time I actually put in the work to do. So I’m going to continue to share my thoughts to push my comfort zone in the hopes that some resonate with you and to make me more comfortable being outside my comfort zone. I won’t subject you to all of my mind as I go through this weird existential crisis of mine, aint nobody got time for that. And I’ll try to keep them as positive as possible. Thanks for all of your support!

Not from today, but it might as well be. Snow is falling and winter storm warning is in effect! Let’s get it 👊 📸: @morganshippen

vagabondmountains with ... SI NO ESTÁS DISPUESTO A ARRIESGAR LO INUSUAL, TENDRÁS QUE CONFORMARTE CON LO USUAL. - Jim Rohn
Y TAL VEZ, EL MAYOR RIESGO DE TODOS, ES VIVIR SIN HABER VIVIDO.💚 #adidasterrex #allaboutadventures #wildernessnation #wanderwomeninc #hike #hiker #trailrunning #mountainside #mountaineering #outdoorwoman #allwilderness #mountainpeopleunite #outdoorlife #mountainneer #choosemountains #adventureladies #wildernessbabes #mountaingirls #bucketlistadventures #runningterritory #wildernessculture #alpineBabes #adventurenthusiasts #womenwhohike #catalunya

Hi! I’m Kika! 👋🏼 No, I don’t hike full time - I wish!
Yes, I love the color red! And Seinfeld, and The Office, and Jack Johnson and Jack Black, and crime shows. 🧐
No, I don’t like chicken if it tastes like chicken. And I think bread ruins most sandwiches.
Am I weird? Can we still be friends? Then tell me something I don’t know about you!
Oi, eu sou a Kika! 👋🏼 Não, eu não faço trilha todo dia - queria eu!
Sim, eu amo a cor vermelha! E Seinfeld, e The Office, e Jack Johnson e Jack Black, e programas sobre crimes. 🧐
