The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
Director: Wes Anderson
DOP: Robert Yeoman
Peter Travers of the Rolling Stone, in his review of this film, wrote, "it's a filigreed toy box of a movie, so delicious-looking you may want to lick the screen" and I think that's the best way to talk about this film, it is a visual delight, in every sense of the word!
Predator franchise - Going a little into the action/scifi subgenre of horror - I’ve got to talk about “Predator”, “Predator II”, and “Predators”. Now, I’d like to preface this review by saying, I’ve seen all of the “Alien”/“Predator”/and “Alien Vs. Predator” films. I own the first two “Alien” movies and these three “Predator” ones - that’s it! None of the “AVP” ones and definitely not that new, 2018 “The Predator”. The reason being is because those films leave out all the seriousness, suspense, tension, and horror in lieu of more action and more comedy. Even the plots become sillier as they go on. In the first “Predator” movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger and a group of special forces badasses square up against a Predator in the middle of the jungle. In “Predator II”, a cop in the middle of a gang war gets tangled up between a Predator and it’s prey. In “Predators”, a ragtag team of mercenaries are transported to the Predators home-planet for some hunting sport. If you’re into science fiction, horror, and some thrills, then I’d highly recommend these three films. #predator #predatormovie #predator1987 #arnoldschwarzenegger #predator2 #predator1990 #dannyglover #predators #predatorsmovie #predators2010 #adrienbrody #sciencefiction #scifi #alien #aliens #action #horror #suspense #tension #ilovehorror #horrorlover #horrorcollector #instahorror #horrorgram #nothorror

Peaky Blinders, 1x03.

2. Wes Anderson - Symmetry, bright colours, dysfunctional families and Bill Murray. These are what makes a Wes Anderson film. What I love about his films are his stories and the way they are portrayed. He exaggerates elements which are not at all serious in real life like boy scouts and hotel managers, and he normalizes serious elements like murder and missing children. I can watch the films while I'm having food or if I want to see art. The characters are so pure and beautiful. There are a lot of moments in his films that I fell in love with. The Whitman Brothers getting invited to the kid's funeral, the Montage of all the concierges and the ending of Moonrise Kingdom are some of the best moments in his films for me. His whip pans are my new favorite style. How can I not talk about his soundtracks? His movies introduced me to the Kinks and I am in love. My rank of his films in order of the best are :
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Moonrise Kingdom (that ending!)
The Darjeeling Limited
The Royal Tenenbaums
Isle of Dogs
All in all, Wes Anderson is a guy who light heartedly shows dark stories, loves his Symmetry and hates dogs (Don't @ me with Isle of Dogs, I'm pretty sure banning all dogs to an island is his favorite dream). #cinema #wesanderson #thedarjeelinglimited #billmurray #adrienbrody #owenwilson #thegrandbudapesthotel #theroyaltenembaums #isleofdogs #bryancranston #edwardnorton #moonrisekingdom #brucewillis
