So often we put so much emphasis on getting a specific result, that we forget to actually enjoy the experience of getting there.
The picture that I posted yesterday has been haunting me ever since I posted it. I look at my body THEN and compare it to my body NOW and feel immediate disappointment. Where did my ab lines go? Why do my legs look like balloons? And where did that belly come from?!
I’ve been working so hard to be keep up with this shredded, perfect image of myself, but in reality I’m not ALWAYS going to look like that. And I don’t need to either.
Because in between THEN and NOW I enjoyed every second. I had an absolute blast trying new programs, making new recipes, meeting new people and experimenting with my healthy lifestyle. I spent time with friends and family, went on a vacation, hiked mountains and experienced life. I didn’t fall off of any wagons - I simple chose to get on a different one.
Everyone has a unique experience when it comes to exercise. I choose to show up every day because sweat makes me happy. Sweat keeps me energized. Sweat will always love me back. And no matter what the number on the scale reads or how tight my jeans feel, I feel grateful knowing that I can wake up tomorrow and keep doing something that truly meeps me smiling. ☀️
This is about 3 a year difference... 😳 not only had my face shrunk but my makeup has improved 😂 seeing the pic on the left pop up on my timeline was a little shocking. But made me realize I’m doing something that works for me finally. Just got finished with another 24 hour fast after my few days of stress eating (damn college😂😒) but I’m right back on track so all is good!

I’ve got that chance the rapper song stuck in my head 😂 “praises go up, blessing come down” + I am totally feeling that this week! Finally out of a really bad depression funk, getting my routine down pat, I am ready for a new month ahead🎃🍁
What a blessing to have a FULL life, to have opportunities to love, serve, listen, + say YES to the life in front of me without worry, fear, or anxiety.
I was told I would not be in that dark place forever, that it was only temporary but OMG did it feel like it was going to last FOREVERRR! I’m so thankful for my daily devotions, my amazing tribe of women, my family, my sober community + my faith💁♀️
I ask people all the time if they are on a health + fitness journey, but to me, that encompasses ALL of the journey from emotional, to mental, to spiritual + I have to put in the work, time, + consistency to strengthen all parts of me so I can be a better XYZ.
I am beyond grateful for the seasons changing, because I am also changing with them, through a little prayer, gratitude 🙏🏻 , time with God, praise, + gentleness with myself. I promise, if you’re struggling, there’s a light at the end of a tunnel, there’s a life flow that happens for all of us, but it’s in never forgetting that with the darkness in the valleys, comes the victorious moments on the mountains⛰

Found myself in the gym this morning for the first time in a long time.
Fitness is so crucial to success; and the more responsibility I've taken on in life, the more my lack of fitness has become apparent. I hope to change that this semester, and for the rest of my life. I will make wellness a priority in my life; achieve it in tandem with success. ❤

What a 6 weeks that has been. I feel like I have been able to get fully under my skin for the first time ever and completely understand the things that have been causing me to feel like a failure for so long. You have a way of questioning that really opens up Pandora’s box and gets to the roots. .
The thing that brought me the most clarity was the difference between the issues I presented at session one, and what we actually mapped as my current state situation in session three. At first I thought it was silly spending 3 sessions on the current but I now realise that with your help, the things I thought were the issues, were merely symptoms and your approach got to the nub of the problems. .
Working on the future state was fun and enlightening and my step by step transformation map will help me through the next 6 months. I have learned that I can’t have everything ‘now’ but I have a roadmap to guide me to it and by making change gradually, it will be achievable. .
The programme is called motivate and it has certainly motivated me. I thought it was expensive at first but now I see it has been worth every penny. The best money I have spent on me in a long time.
