Beyond stoked that I captured this shot! What a beautiful place to live. 💕
Trying to catch the fall colours with sunset tonight. 🌲🍃🍂🌤
Some of the most beautiful moments are of expressing the joy and not seeking it. This is one such moment from our trip to #pnw
. A beautiful hike, great people and an amazing fall at the end. This visit has left us wanting for more.
How does backpacking thru Olympic N.P sounds like?
it’s amazing how our ‘perspective’ can deeply move us - make us rethink what we thought we knew - and shift the ways we look at the world and everything in it.
maybe that’s why i enjoy the window seat of an airplane. when you see the world from up there, it’s like everything becomes a little more clear and yet, at the same time, a whole lot more incomprehensible to even attempt to understand. although, I like to think a healthy dose of mystery is good for our being - hopefully keeping us away from pride, and instilling in us a deep sense of reverence towards this wonderous world we live in, and this beautiful life we get to enjoy.
i’m excited for more moments like these. that challenge what i believe, shift the ways i think, and hopefully shape me into a more loving person. all while trying to seek truth and wonder through it all.
Buckle up. 🤙🏻 Photo shot by Overland Yukon guest @ariasdavid
Every year when Fall arrives I think of these John Mayer lyrics: “When autumn comes
It doesn't ask
It just walks in where it left you last
You never know when it starts
Until there's fog inside the glass around
Your summer heart”
Change is inevitable, and we often don’t get a say in when it arrives or how it unfolds. Our reaction on the other hand, is something we can control. Can we accept transitions gracefully? Can we choose curiosity instead of fear? Can we see opportunity vs doubt?
Can we remember that each season in life has its own special beauty and purpose? | photo @nickrlake #pnwoutdoorwomen #thoughtsbeforebed
Fall is here, and with it some early snows ~
I spent the past 5 days doing a technical mountaineering course in the North Cascades. It rained and snowed and rained some more, but I learned a lot and saw some incredibly beautiful places. There is so much to explore, and I’m beyond excited to spend more time on the mountain tops
Our first glimpse at the North Fork Area, where we’d be backpacking for 5 days, in Glacier National Park🤩🏔 @glaciernps
I love summer. When it’s 9pm but you can sit outside in shorts and be warm.
When you can go out for a walk in the evening and it’s still light out. The hikes and lake days. 🌞
But during my walk today I’m reminded of how much I enjoy the change of seasons.
The moody clouds, the rain showers and sun shining at the same time. The vibrant green of moss and plants that have soaked up fresh rain. 🌿
The fire lit. The warm sweaters and cozy evenings. Listening to rain fall on the roof as I’m curled up in bed. 🌧
Fall is certainly here. And I’m pretty damn happy about it. 🙌🏻
Spent Friday evening in the city, no complaints over here🙋🏼♀️
Had a good family hike today. The boys par-cored all 3-4 miles of trail. 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams"
Who would of ever thought we would be living in the desert, with a dope house, CJ has the best job ever, and I'm still obsessing over CBD? NOT ME! ♡ Life is so amazing, so not give up on your dreams!!
The beauty of the ecological cycle is that all species depend on each other. There is not a single species that is insignificant. This is true of human life, as well. One thing nature teaches us is that we are not alone, and we cannot survive alone. We are interdependent of each other. No one is inferior or of no worth. Even the worse people in our lives help us survive. We need each other to survive. And, we need nature to survive.

Feels good to be back home. Update on Kodi, no more seizures since we started Kepra. Valley fever test was negative so we need to see Kodi’s favorite neurologist Dr. Knolls for a head CT to rule out a lesion. Otherwise he’s his old smiling self
Felt inspired to take out my watercolors again at Maroon Bells, not too shabby for a 10 minute painting! This place left me speechless, I know I will be daydreaming about this experience for days 🏔
Nowhere to go but everywhere. 🌿
First stage of grief; Denial. AKA running shirtless all day despite torrential downpours and ball-busting winds. My apologies to anyone on Hamilton Mountain who had to deal with the dad bod AND my signature Broadway and Disney singing. As the kids say, YOLO. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for pumpkin spice lattes as much as the next basic white girl, but still. Summer forever.

Thankful for this low key weekend, filled with not a whole lot of hiking, but instead, our favorite place, lots of laughs, and lots of wine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sad to leave our new favorite campsite, but we’ll be back ❤️🌲

Where the red sun sinks in the hills of gold and the healing waters run
During this hike I remember all of the sudden having a craving to eat at Smoky Mountain Pizzaria... I wonder why 😉
I am missing the cool weather and fresh sweet pine tree smell of Washington. the scenery there is so much different compared to Nevada, i hope i can live somewhere up in the PNW when I'm older!
Sleeping outside is so refreshing, especially when you're surrounded by nothing but lush forests and fresh smells
