When I decided to do a 3 day detox, I expected it to be fairly easy and to lose a couple pounds (I didn't treat my body very well last week 🙈)
As it turned out, it was pretty hard and I lost 9 POUNDS! 🥳 I never saw that coming but it was the perfect refresh as I start my new workout program.
Send me a message if you'd like to chat about the kit I used 😘
At first glance, which is “healthier”? Blueberry muffin or strawberry glazed donut with sprinkles?
How many times have you thought “I really want the “X” but I’m going to go for the “healthier option”.
For me-constantly! Before I learned to look at the macros of foods, I ALWAYS thought muffins were the “healthier” options, just like I thought salads at restaurants were the “healthier” option when in reality-they’re packed with sneaky fats in the toppings and dressings.
**But take a look at the calorie differences and more importantly, the carb and SUGAR differences. Let’s take back the meaning of “healthy” because society likes to demonize certain foods while glorifying others without discussing the nutrition behind them, which leaves you gaining weight while eating foods you don’t even want 🙅♀️**
This is why I loveee the 80/20 rule. This is why I loveeee flexible dieting, because if you’re craving something-you HAVE it and then move on with actual healthy choices the rest of the day!
Moral of the story: you’ll be much healthier and happier if you don’t restrict certain foods/food groups and it’s important to look at what’s IN your food 🤗

Today's workout was titled POWERFUL and let me tell you, I definitely felt powerful.💪 I promised myself I would push harder each day in my workouts and dig deeper into my personal development. It's so empowering to see what your body can do when you set your mind on a goal. I can't wait too see what's coming.
This week’s weigh-in! 🥳 Alex -2 | Beth -4 Safe to say we’re doing pretty well on the plan so far! We’re only on our third week now, so we’re still trying to coordinate the plan in a way that suits us, our lifestyles, our tastes, et cetera. 😅 That means weekend meal prep, lunch time walks, Sunday hikes, and finding food that we like! 😋 We’re foodies, so finding a good recipe that we want to make again and again is super important. 👊 Do you have a firm favourite that makes its way into your weekly menu? ❤️
Thought I’d do a #throwback
today to the first time I ever lifted 100kgs back in May in 2017. I was on top of the world for ages! One of my favourite things about training. Hitting PBS and feeling like a beast! 😂 Haven’t done any big lifts for a few months because of an injury and can’t wait to get back into them and start pushing my limits again! 😁😁💪
Angles and lighting matter. 😂 But it's always fun to see the difference -175 lbs has made on my face.
Also NGL, I had to photoshop the photo on the right. There were some bats in the cave that needed to be taken care of. 🦇
Anyways I wanted to ask a question: if you are currently overweight or obese, do you have darker skin in your creases and folds? I used to have darker skin on my neck, m armpits, and etc. (When I was younger, I thought it was trapped dirt. 🤷🏻♀️) Although I had the issue the majority of my life, it was only addressed once by my previous OBGYN after the birth of my daughter. She mentioned it could be an underlying symptom of PCOS. Although I didn't follow up with my DR, I found out that the darkened skin could also be a sign of Type 2 Diabetes. While I was never formally diagnosed with either, the issue with dark skin completely disappeared with my weight loss.
I guess the point I'm making is be aware of your body. It might be subtle or it might be pronounced, but your body does have its ways of telling you that something is wrong. I went the majority of my life with this issue, never thinking it could be a sign of something more serious aside from just excess fat. So if something doesn't seem right, seek advice from a professional. Something as simple as losing weight and making a dietary lifestyle change can improve the issue, BUT it's always best to ask a doctor. Your health is important, so be proactive!

Intermittent fasting changed my life. After struggling with my weight for 26 years and having a panic attack every time I looked at the mirror I decided to look at different ways to lose weight. We all know that Fad diets don’t work and you end up gaining so I decided to make a lifestyle change and implement the 16:8 method and it helped me shred the pounds without even going to the gym. I cut out all sugars and snacking and practiced mindful eating. The first week was the hardest but I always told myself that I was worth self care and took it one day at a time. I slipped up and allowed myself to have cheat meals but I learned a lot about food and now enjoy a healthy diet and was able to kick my sugar addiction to the curb. I owe it all to intermittent fasting. Please consult your doctor to see if this is the right thing for you, but it was for me and I am so thankful to have found this amazing way of life and of eating. Good luck on your journey, I still have a bit to go but I am taking it one day at a time and not obsessing over it. #intermittentfasting #beforeandafter #weightlosstransformation #weightlossjourney #ayunointermitente #weightloss #weightlossmotivation #weightlossgoal #weightlossideas #intermittentfasting16hours #selfcare #caloriedeficit #transformation #intermittentfastingresults

Fixing the pony since I just completed my first 5 mile run since November. F YEAH! Pardon the language. But I never thought I’d be here again. Baby steps!
i’ve been down on myself lately
so i’ve been in the 170s since about September. it’s like once i got under 180 and i was ~178 i hit a big time plateau. until that point i was losing at least 2 pounds a week and since then i’ve only lost 8 pounds
this probably has to do with the stress of school starting again, the holidays, and my eating/working out hasn’t been perfect 😕
also i’ve been struggling with my body image/positivity. i’ve been really down on myself and upset that i ever let myself get up to 240. when i was younger i used to have a nice flat stomach and a round booty and now i have stretch marks and loose skin and it’s hard to really love my body🥺
with all that being said i’m still working hard. last friday i was 171.6, and i’ve been working hard to be 170 (a 70 pound loss) and i think i’m going to be really soon💖
It's been a hot topic this week! I've managed to lose 49.4 pounds since August 1, following the recommendations of my wls program. I'm down 71.5 from my highest weight. And now, I'm hearing this question...if I'm doing so well losing the weight naturally, why do I still want surgery? I believe they've asked out of real concern.
1. I have a LOT more weight to lose...more than 100 pounds (my goal weight is higher than what a woman my age and of my height is "supposed" to weigh).
2. My chances of losing that much weight on my own (and keeping it off) are incredibly slim.
3. History is a great predictor of the future. With absolutely every weight loss attempt except the last, I've gained the weight back, plus more.
4. I was on my way to reaching my HW again after my last attempt before I made this decision.
5. I'm simply worth anything that can help me be healthier.
6. My parents only lived to ages 58 and 61. At 44 yo, I want more time!
7. I realized how much my 12 yo son worries about my health--this was my wake-up call. I want to live as long as possible to be here for him.

Veggies, veggies, and more veggies for tonight’s dinner 🍽 .
Cauliflower rice (that my mom actually made it herself before she left back to Europe)
Onion, broccoli 🥦 and tomato 🍅 chop (thats what I had in my fridge, mixed with some olive oil)
And vegan 🌱 meatballs! Those seriously taste so good, it is hard to believe they are vegan!
Breakfast for dinner tonight! Chorizo and eggs topped with cheese and some no sugar added ketchup, bacon, and avocado. Yum! 😋🥓🍳🥑 I cook my bacon in the oven on heavy duty foil on 400 for 20 minutes, and it comes out perfectly crispy every time!
Buffalo chicken tenders and butternut squash with a little maple syrup and cinnamon. 😋 only 7 #ww
points and I couldn’t even eat it all! 😃
