Movie Review: Porco Rosso (dub)
Porco is often seen as the most underappreciated gem of the Ghibli catalog. Personally, I think so many people claim it as such that it no longer qualifies as being the most underappreciated, but the sentiment remains the same: this movie needs more love than it gets. The film follows a bounty hunter, who just so happens to be a pig. I'll just leave it at that. This is probably going to be a short, crappy review (if you follow me, then you get what you came for), but I'm not really sure what all to say about this movie. The characters are great, the music is as great as always, the animation is great, the story is great- look, it's all great, alright? Or is it a bit more? When I first saw this movie, I thought it was great, and left it at that. Upon rewatching it, I think I like it just a bit more than that, now. I won't know where it lands for me in a ranking of Ghibli's films until I finish rewatching all of them, but I do think it has a decent shot at getting a higher position than it did previously.
Porco Rosso gets a 9/10 (Amazing)
