This might be the most neglected record in my collection. I’ve owned it since the early 90s and only listened to it for the first time this morning. I’m not even sure how I ended up with it, but it’s been in my “to listen” box for at least 25 years. I was never curious enough to put it on. This is swing music, lively and very clean sounding. This 7” was released without a picture sleeve as a promo for Joe Cain’s 1982 “Red Parrot Orchestra” LP. I enjoyed it and made super clean sounding rip of it, but I doubt I’ll ever listen to it again. #joecain #joecainandtheredparrotorchestra #redparrotorchestra #palladiumdays #zooyorkrecordz #bigband #swingmusic #vinylcollection

Charlie Christian, chitarrista nella Benny goodman orchestra

- "I was never interested in music at all until one day I heard Charlie Christian play "Solo Flight" with Benny Goodman. I never heard anything like it before. It impressed me so much that I wanted to play like him. I only enjoyed music because it was a way to dance with the girls.
As soon as I heard Christian, I ran out and bought a guitar. I was very disappointed though, because I discovered I couldn't play anything...I wanted to play so bad, so I listened to Charlie Christian's records over and over and finally could play all his solos.
I didn't know what key they were in or anything like that but could play them note for note...I had no thoughts of being a great guitar player. I didn't realize it then but I was developing my own style..." - Wes Montgomery .
Today we honor Charlie Christian and his undeniable influence over the development of jazz guitar as we hear it today on the 102nd anniversary of his Birthday 🙌🏻🎶💎
