My guitar history: Electrics
1: 60s #Yamaha
SGV. Learned to play on it, belongs to my mother, it's still in the family. It's the only guitar I've ever played with a zero fret.
2: 1996 #Squier
. My first real guitar of my own. I still have it although it's not recognizable anymore, the only original stuff on it is the wood. Currently it is fitted with #DaveGilmore
pickups, black pickguard and hardware, and sometime soon I'd like to install a #babicz
3: #Ibanez #RG270
. My first REAL guitar, because #Korn
used Ibanez and I wanted to be Korn. It was a great guitar until I ruined it with needless experimentation. I believe it's around here somewhere in wood and neck form... 4: #Maton #Mastersound
MS500. These things are sexy though the one I had wasn't exactly inspiring. Wouldn't mind getting another but select more carefully next time.
Black Top #Tele
. One of my favorite instruments to jam on, currently at my girlfriend's house so I have something there to jam on if I feel so inclined. Fun Fact; the pickups in it came from my band mate Joao before I knew him! #SeymourDuncan
SLS: It was a cool guitar but, long term, I didn't vibe with it. Too sterile for my liking. Probably because of the 81/85 EMG pickup set.
, something... Amazing guitar! My brother has it but I want it back ASAP! The one we have is red and with p90s, incredible when tuned to D standard.
8: Squier Strat (with Squier logo scratched off and replaced with a Fender logo). Technically not mine, but was lent to me by my bandmate Kes for a year as a birthday present. While the neck felt pretty nice, it confirmed my suspicion of the EMG81 definitely NOT being my preferred pickup. Sometimes I miss it, it's not everyday you're given a guitar, but I never really used it.
9: #LTD #SirHeadly
. I've played this thing so much that the black coloring has been rubbed off the screws. By far, the best guitar I've ever played (only slightly edging out the Belman). The #evertune
bridge and #Fishman #Fluence
Modern pickups are as awesome as the purple flamed finish. I really cannot get enough of this thing!
Next up, Basses!
