Well here it is, #Spider
-Man 1. Directed by Sam Raimi and starting Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. Not gonna lie, this movie is a staple of my early childhood. So watching this movie, I had to forget the childhood memories and analyze the film, and I’m happy to say I was not disappointed. The movie starts with a hilarious scene involving Peter Parker chasing a Bus that won’t stop and his classmates laughing at him. To me, that sums up how the first act basically revolves around. Being familiar with how this Character is like in the comics, I think Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire nailed this character. Not only do you feel sympathetic towards Peter, but you can understand his character motivation. I believe the relationship shown between Peter and Mary Jane is portrayed in a very genuine style, making you rout for Peter. When it comes to other performances, I think it’s near perfect. Willem Defoe as the Green Goblin is spectacular, and to me is very underrated when it comes to Super villain performances. He mixes a great dose of psychotic and sympathetic. James Franco and Kristen Dunst also do a terrific job portraying their characters. While the relationships feel genuine, Sam Raimi also does an fantastic job by creating conflict between Characters. The movie is also paced very well. It moves from sequence to sequence very fluidity and it develops and fleshes its characters out very well. The Action Sequences are also very well directed for their time especially the final fight between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin. The only few things I don’t like about the movie is sometimes the scenes can seem illogical and not really make sense. I’m also not a big fan of the Green Goblin suit, but it’s not the worst thing they could’ve come up with. Overall, Spider-Man 1 remains a staple of the Superhero genre with little to no faults and brings plenty of Fun and Excitement.
