Taylor Sheridan’s Frontier Trilogy plus Sicario: Day of The Soldado!
Taylor Sheridan has got a knack for writing gripping thriller-style stories set in barren landscapes where the lines of right and wrong can be blurred. They also generally involve male characters willing to do whatever it took to achieve their goals.
I really enjoyed Hell or High Water and Sicario, both very well made films with characters that believe their actions are justified even if it’s not the moral choice. Wind River was good, exploring isolated America where the potential to get away with crimes is high due to a lack of authorities and how it affects those who live there. Sicario: Day of the Soldado was a bit disappointing but it’s still a well made film, reentering into the world of drug cartels.
My only complaint about Sheridan’s work is that the female characters are a bit lacking in terms of their strength as they are portrayed as out of depth and helpless in extreme situations.
Overall I’m keen to see where Taylor Sheridan goes with his screenplays, whether he’ll stick with the Frontier style or try something else.

So if your fear is operating out of bounds, I am telling you, you are not. The boundaries been moved.
On the set of Sicario (2015)
We live in the world that is full of hatred of the president himself Donald Trump. Which the government was shutdown to bulit that wall. Regulations related to this, Sicario is one of my favorite movies of all time. Living in Mexico and seeing disturbing shit in this movie is fucking crazy. Benicio Del Toro killed his damn role, Josh Brolin is great, and you got Emily Blunt playing a character that she never experience what was like in Mexico and how it’s been dealt nowadays. The themes in these movies are strong. I love how it focuses on that. Denis Villeneuve one of the newest directors is rising today. The way how he crafted is so mind blown. Also Taylor Sheridan is still my favorite writer. Johann Johannsson did such an amazing score. Rest In Peace. In Sicario: Day Of The Soldado is different. More action and Benicio and Josh team up. I was low expectations how this turn out to be sequel even tho Stefano Sollima said is not a sequel but hum don’t know. The movie was good but not the best. It was focusing on two side characters. Legitimately when your younger you experience things that are disturbing limitless possibilities of how you act. Isabella Moner character focuses on her that she frightened and scared for what she experiencing gunshots. Elijah Rodriguez character has a situation of being a showoff or scared if something will happen in the future. It does really well similar to the police guy in the first one. Watch these two movies it is relentlessly entertaining.

C+, I do like how it seems well be getting a third installment however wasn’t crazy how Reyes was never shown, you’d think a Cartel leader would move heaven & earth to get his daughter back. Few things that didn’t add up but overall it was entertaining and I’d recommend it for something to watch. #movie #moviereview #sicariodayofthesoldado
I got quite busy with movie watching in the second half of February. I finally watched some movies that didn't disappoint me and there were a few movies that managed to light up my love for movies again. I have something planned for a special anime post or posts that I'm catching up on some shows in order to do, and that might be fun for those few who follow me and watch anime. I was gonna watch more shows, but since I watch anime so frequently, following 12 weekly shows and after I finish a show I just move on to the next one, there comes a time where I need to take a few weeks break to reload. Anyway, here's my ranking of the stuff I watched last month:

Thoughts on these movies and shows?
Gavin O’Conner who’s coming off his biggest box office success with “The Accountant” is teaming up with academy award nominated screenwriter Taylor Sheridan for the action thriller “Fast”. Besides writing “Sicario” and its sequel Sheridan has also written “Wind River” and the Oscar nominated “Hell or High Water”. Besides “the Accountant” he is known for the Tom Hardy led MMA film “Warrior” and “Miracle” about the Miracle on Ice at the 1980 Winter Olympics. ——————-
The film focuses on a special forces commando tasked with stopping drug dealers protected by the DEA. While it’s a story that’s been told many
times before through film and tv it is still a project to get excited about due to Sheridan’s pedigree with the crime genre and what he’s done with the “Sicario” films which deals with the war on drugs among other criminal activities. I have loved most of Gavin’s previous films and Sheridan can’t do no wrong to me so I am very excited for this project as well just my general interest in movies that tackle drugs. As I previous posted on this page few months back Chris Pratt was attached to the project when Sheridan himself was going to direct the film but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. I still feel it will attract a big name as previous Sheridan scripts have had Josh Brolin, Jeremy Renner, Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro and Jeff Bridges among many others.#DEA #WarOnDrugs #MMA #MiracleonIce #PrideAndGlory #TheAccountant #Sicario #sonsofanarchy #SOA #sicariodayofthesoldado #tumbleweeds #janegotagun #hellorhighwater #windriver
10 SURPRISES OF 2018. These movies surprised me in more ways in one by being unexpectedly moving, exciting or just downright fun.
1. Game Night: a surprisingly intelligence and funny action comedy that proves that Rachel McAdams needs to be given more comedy roles.
2. Dumplin’: an up-lifting tale about self-love, empowerment and a love note to Dolly Parton.
3. Climax: an insane and beautiful destruction of humanity told through one-takes of hypnotic dance sequences and twisty mind-fucks.
4. Solo: A Star Wars Story: a movie way more fun than what it deserves to be. Had this been released before Episode VII it would have been better received, there is no doubt about it.
5. Upgrade: Alexa was installed into Logan Marshall Green and what we get is a gleefully violent revenge story that has more to say than it should about technology.
6. Sicario: Day of the Soldado: may not be as good as its predecessor but it is still better than your average thriller. Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin continue to deliver strong performances.
7. Crazy Rich Asians: when the romantic comedy genre was getting stale, here comes a colourful and funny tale.
8. Searching: a movie that was told horribly by Unfriendly but surprisingly effective here. John Cho was brilliant here and definitely shows off his dramatic acting chops.
9. A Simple Favour: I think Blake Lively has proven herself to be a good actress and it shows here. Despite some incredibly weird tonal shifts, it was a zany and engaging movie that could be more Girl on the Train-ish.
10. Bumblebee: Okay keep Michael Bay away from future movies please. Travis Knight is the true MVP here.
#BlacKkKlansman #AStarIsBorn #Roma #Zama #LeaveNoTrace #FirstMan #ColdWar #Hereditary
#AQuietPlace #Annihilation #TheOldManAndTheGun #TheBalladOfBusterScruggs #YouWereNeverReallyHere #AmericanAnimals #TheSistersBrothers #Revenge #SicarioDayOfTheSoldado #Searching

Sold art to my new friend and collector John Henry he was also kind enough to invite me to drive with him to Puerto Vallarta to deliver his truck and cargo of art to his compound. I’m still crazy like that. Haven’t done a major road trip deep into Mex since 2002 before the Cartels where chopping rival’s heads off in TJ and hanging their bodies over the freeway. The border is totally different now nothing like we saw growing up anymore won’t even recognize it and having smartphones and GPS is a major game changer instead of your memory and maps once you get out of TJ. It’s still like the Wild Wild West and STAR WARS though in every way seriously feel like a cowboy Cain from Kung Fu type shit I’m the only ASAIN I have seen in 3 days? Saw a big rig jack knife in between the freeway divide and saw a white Ford suv rolled with a Exploder yard sale strewn including four dia de los muertos people under blankets. Just add a new cross shrine to the honor the dead 4 more to the hundreds along the way. Just hours of driving in the desert feeling like your on another rock world. It’s heavy you cross one last State crossing if you don’t have all your papers insurance passport in order you can’t go further that’s with military dressed like our military with the same guns. They checked our trash in the trash for contraband just rolled it away for inspection. They searched the bed and I was afraid they where going to open up all the art. John packed new glass sex toys on purpose in the front of the bed and we happen to get a the female inspector she blushed and gave us a half search and let us go. I was like dude really I was-as surprised as her I wasn’t going Broke Back Mountain WTF?? John told me it’s an old trick it makes the Federales uncomfortable or lightens the tension. Genius shit LMFOA! You can still teach this old dog new tricks. Agak lama gak nyadar, masih banyak tontonan bagus di hardisk belum terjamah. Kemarin malam, maunya nonton sambil makan. Eh ketiban sial gak tanggung-tanggung. Teteup Hot yah Benicio Del Toro 😘
