This piece of art, “Splash,” was created by a Veteran using a squirt gun filled with tempera paint during an Occupational Therapy session. This is the work of a Veteran who suffered serious frostbite to multiple fingers resulting in bilateral finger amputations. This piece of art represents all the hard work this Veteran has put into rehabilitation of his fingers. The Fargo VA's Occupational Therapy Department helps Veterans participate in their everyday activities or “occupations.” It is through the use of a holistic viewpoint and functional activities that Occupational Therapists help people recover from mental health, cognitive, or physical deficits.
