With this pictures I have your attention, right? Good! 😉🍑 I feel the need to talk to you about something important: I use the hashtags #zerosexism #ohjaja #ahouioui
because Equal.brussels starts today: it's an awareness campaign on consent and sexual violence. I want to stand up against sexual violence together with @Equal.Brussels
(Instagram) / @be.equal.be.brussels
(Facebook). I believe in the importance of this campaign because I have noticed that not everyone in my environment is aware of how much damage sexual violence causes. Many victims, even years after the facts, still suffer from the sexual violence in their past. That is why it can't be communicated enough: there is only agreement to have sex when ALL people involved say yes! Furthermore, there are also many different myths about sexual violence out in this world. For example; perpetrators are not always men and victims are not just only women. A 'no' is definitely a 'no' and not a 'yes'! Even a 'maybe' is not a 'yes'. And if you think that you just have to "convince" that person, you can learn a thing or two from this campaign! You even might consider changing your point of view on how to approach people. Also kissing and touching does not mean that you automatically can go further. Not even if that person is dressed in a challenging manner or sends you nude pics. Flirting is ok but EVERYONE must be able to control his or her sexual urges at all time when there is no clear permission from the other person/people. No matter what. The victim should never be blamed or referred to as 'guilty'. If you feel as strongly about this issue as I do, speak up. Share and care by using the hashtags #zerosexism #ohjaja #ahouioui
. Thank you in advance for reading this and maybe, if you like, to help spreading the awareness.
