I’ve been MIA this weekend, but it’s because I’ve been having a wonderful time in DC with my mom! We saw Elton John on Friday night, spent yesterday exploring DC, and saw 2 of my favorite bands @waldengrams

experience - the spaghetti squash casserole and flourless chocolate cake were a paleo-ish person’s dream 😍 (swipe for pics). Back to normal posts tomorrow! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
Day 21 of 30. This was our curry last night, the 'naan' on the right is my peshwari one and I'm only sorry I didn't stop troughing long enough for you to see the inside! Its a seriously easy make though (can you see a theme here!? 😆).
For 2 'naans' you'll need half a jar of tahini, 2 eggs, 1/4 tsp bicarb and 1/2 tbs cider vinegar. Just beat them together. For the peshwari version I spooned half my portion onto a lined baking sheet and smoothed circular with a spoon. You only need a thin bit, they puff. Then grated fresh coconut and chopped 5 raisins and half a dried apricot, spice with black + regular cumin. This is a recipe better when you make 2!! If you use more than this you stray out of keto and into pudding territory! Dollop the other half of tahini mix on the top and cautiously smooth. Bake for about 12mins at 200°C (til firm and slightly golden).
I mean, clearly if you've been chowing down on the crispy slippery tandoor breads for the last 4 decades they don't pass muster: Mr D pronounced its very nice as a Reset naan. Damning with faint praise... But if you're a bread starved glutard or a dedicated paleo follower they flippin rock your world! .
21 days is what it takes for a liver with at least some function to regenerate, if memory serves it's 10%, and the 21 day thing is why express detoxes are BS. Also different toxins take different timescales to make their ways down your 5 detox pathways to the exit. Happy New Liver day to me! I do feel rather renewed though it must be said! Its nice to do this as we enter proper autumn, and the season of renewal. .

THE 6 PACK. Is it important? It can be, yes. For me it is a clear indication that I have my diet dialled in and my body is efficiently burning fat for fuel.
As previously mentioned, I do not count calories, so this is not a result of me cutting calories to achieve a calorie 'deficit' like so many tout is the only way to lose body fat. In fact I doubt I am ever in a deficit. I eat a lot of food. I normally eat 5 times a day and would estimate my calorie intake at around 3500-4000 a day (I did track once and was just under 4000). So for me, my 6 pack tells me my body is not holding onto any unnecessary/unwanted fat.
Do I have a 6 pack just because I train a lot? No. I have 2 injuries at the moment so my training volume has been greatly reduced over the last 4 months but my physique has hardly changed plus I have trained a lot for over a decade but only revealed my 6 pack when I changed my diet a few years ago.
Food choice trumps calorie counting every time. I just stick to the principles mentioned in a previous post and my body burns fat efficiently as it should and keeps it at a low but healthy level. If, however, you are having to drastically cut your calories and practically starve yourself to reveal your 6 pack then you are probably eating the wrong foods.
So 6 packs can be good and bad. For me they are a clear indicator I am eating well and I am in a healthy state. For others who are severely cutting calories and generally feel weak and unhealthy, they can be a sign of malnutrition.
Yes they look good but don't undernourish yourself to try and get one.

“Healthy” Snacks v actual meal! I have no issue with Nuts or snacks to an extent. Snacking on Nuts is pretty tough task and requires discipline.
How many people are guilty of just inhaling a 100 gram bag of nuts!🙋🏼♂️
Nuts use to be my downfall a few years back when I was on the 100% Team Paleo way of living.
Different Nuts have various nutrients and calories but they pretty much high calorie dense foods. They have some great benefits as long as your considering the hidden nasties such as hydrogenated fats or sugar or “natural” flavourings often added to them.
Eating snacks which are lower in calories, foods which are easier to Portion control are probably going to be more sustainable for most. Or just actually weighing or using your thumb size as a guide.

Meal prep by me; wild salmon + egg and all the Plants 🌱 such as tomatoes + green beans + sweet potatoes 😍 + rabbit leaves.
Just food for Thought for those who be snacking on the so called healthy nuts.
Also supermarkets are Pretty Savvy swapping the sugar laden processed foods with bags of nuts 🥜 now at the checkout aisle shelves. They don’t miss a trick. Money money money no care for your health or waistline.
