A far cry from this tonight 😭
Can’t stop. Won’t stop. 3 gorgeous days of hiking through the Andes with these two Texans. While there was some suffering, no one died. Highest reach was 12,721 feet with over 7,200 feet of gain through the 24+ miles. Sigchos-Chugchilán-Quilotoa. #NeverStopExploring
Thankful for Bennett, winter adventures & ice cleats!
The best part of living in Colorado so far is that when the slopes get too packed after a few turns, climbing is never far away... #climballthetime
I often get caught up in posting on social media for the numbers, rather than for the content itself. I've been going through some old photos and finding that it's the images like these, silly and imperfect that bring me the most joy.
“I go down to the shore in the morning
and depending on the hour the waves
are rolling in or moving out,
and I say, oh, I am miserable,
what should I do? And the sea says
in its lovely voice:
Excuse me, I have work to do.” Mary Oliver
Wow. This race was NOT my race. I never found my rhythm. I couldn't get my breathing under control for my desired pace (which if you are a runner, you will understand what I mean), the course was far more technical (ROCKS, lots of rocks) than I had anticipated and to top it off it was shark week = no energy.
The first 10 miles I struggled, at mile 15 I fell, at mile 17 I ran out of fluids (my fault, I didn't fill the hydration bladder fully before the race). BUT at mile 20 I crossed the finish line.
This race did teach me a few things and those will come in handy for the next race. Not every run is a great run but at least I get to run. Live long and perspire peeps!!
"Don't stop when you're tired, stop when you're done." Struggled to run 8 miles today, but happy I got it done nonetheless. (You know you're out of shape when you're VO2 Max goes down from 51 to 47.) First trail run of the year! Oh how I've missed this beautiful view of the lake! Grateful for the perfect running weather. Followed by an afternoon swim while hubby kept me company snuggled in blanket. (Poor thing still recovering from a cold flu.) Thank God they finally fixed the pool heater! Yeey! #optoutside #trailrunning #buildingbase #outofshape #thestruggleisreal #patienceisavirtue
There's no school like the old school. This is a pic from way back in my college days when I was studying field cartography and geomorphology in Big Bend!
The problem is not to find the answer, it's to face the answer.
Never looking down, I'm just in awe of whats in front of me...

Getting dirt all over your @goldmindgoods
apparel in order to get crispy shots... 10/10, very worth.
Constantly chasing new views and experiences... Wouldn't want to be living any other way. Cheers to growth and good times 😁👍🏽 ✱ Heres a picture from my recent travels; Colorado never fails at causing me to question if I'm dreaming or not... ✱
Humbled every single time.
They will see us waving from such great heights... ✈️☁️✨

Don't sit and complain, stand and act.
This world is so beautiful. I realize it more each and every day. You can choose to look at the dark side in this life and be miserable or you can choose to look at the bright side and find bliss & peace. This life is all about choices, your actions and your thoughts must always be carefully chosen and expressed. Remember that you are in control, so just be happy and smile... 🌞🍃
