is one of our generations most underrated rappers which he proved with the album Imperial in the past, and now with his newest album TABOO.
In this album Curry proves his versatility and intelligence in the 3 discs (1.LIGHT, 2.GREY,3.DARK). In the intro song "Taboo" Denzel details his relationship with a woman that grew up through a lot of suffering and abuse and expresses the emotional distance that needs to be bridged between the two damaged people, and he gives her a shoulder to cry on and tries to fix the relationship. This song showed his versatility as he utilises story telling with an eerie instrumental. The songs Black balloons and Cash Maniac are more calming, and the final song of the LIGHT disc "SUMO" utilises his soundcloud scream rap in and a preparation for the less calm 2nd disc "GREY". "GREY" is a very versatile disc which had a perfect mix of lyricism with speedy rapping and good production with the songs "CLOUT COBAIN" and "SIRENZ"(Featuring @jidsv
- another upcoming very talented rapping) being the highlight songs on it with the other tracks still being solid tracks which have strong replay value. "SIRENZ" having such a calming beat with strong lyricism and wordplay and soulful singing, with real political intelligence from Denzel curry and strong wordplay from J.I.D portraying a glimpse of the bright future that these two hold in hip hop. And "CLOUT COBAIN" delivers the message of suicidal thoughts and paranoia stemming from chasing popularity. The 2nd disc is undoubtedly the best on the album and one of if not the best work from Denzel Curry.
The 3rd disc 'DARK' has a darker tone with a return to an older sound from denzel curry with a more hyped and fast tone with some strong production and very consistent rap skills which are very underrated with the outro "BLACK METAL TERRORIST" giving a fast tempo beat with denzel excitedly spitting very stong bars throughout and the track "VENGEANCE with @zillakami
giving a very strong collaboration proving all of their individualism and providing fans with a very good song.
STOP SLEEPING ON DENZEL CURRY
