1. Hydration: Rely heavily on my #profiledesignhydrationsetup
, which fuels me for the first hour of the race. I generally use #high5
carb drink which allows me to absorb upto 80gm carbs per hour,
My second bottle is my concentrated aero setup from #bontrager
which snugly fits into the mount with no chance of the bottle falling, this i combine with on course water and electrolyte drinks.
Play around with the concentrations to figure out what works best for you, I have figure that my body can handle upto 2.5 scoops an hour.
2. SALT: is the most critical element and racing km Asian wether you just cannot get away with only electrolyte drinks. I lose a lot of salt on the bike and run, I prefer to use #saltstick
salt capsules at least 3 per 750 ml, trick is to@remove
the plastic coating and dissolve them beforehand in your drink. Towards the end of the ride and the entire run I take #saltstick
salt and caffeine tablets to focus better in the heat.
